Hi,
I've purchased a Pentax-DA* smc 300mm f4 ED (IF) SDM Lens used.
Excellent condition worked OK.
It was fine for the last year, not as fast AF as I expected.
Then NOTHING no sound or movement at all.
A friend has a new lens same...works great.
I tried to contact a Pentax repair place...reply sorry we don't repair that lens.
I'm not in despair...I'll go back to what I did pre digital.
MF and probably manage.
My question is:
Can you help with any guide to sort things.
Checklist etc.
Have I Camera got my settings wrong..?
I have a K1mk2...K3 mk3 & K70 the firmware is up to date.
Are there any issues with mount contacts..cleaning etc.
Looking at other Pentax-DA* smc 300mm f4 ED (IF) SDM Lens threads, I see that SDM failure is unlikely.
I have a 200mm f2.8..which is superb.

I have an AA Battery adapter for my K3ii Battery grip.
I've tried to use Energizer AA Lithium.
It worked previously.
But now has either blank or Red showing.
Can you please advise.
I expect that I've got the wrong type of Battery.
