K-30, SMC Takumar 55mm f1.8, Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta 2017 Light up the Night by David Dawson, on Flickr
I haven't been using this lens as much as I should, but it's nice to take it out for a walk here and again. At the fiesta it made a nice lightweight compliment to my Sigma 10-20 for longer shots and turned out to be about all I needed for reach.

Thank you very much. Interesting review and finnaly I bought this lens Super Takumar 50mmF1.4 (8 elements). The quality image is very good tone and sharp. I satisfied this lens. No problem shoting in low light (bedroom) but the best image is at F2.8. If I shotoutdoor, the best image at F4. Here are sample of images.

Takumar 85 f1.8 @f4 I believe, kind of in a rush so I might've missed the focus a little. |

Welcome to club Fujifilm X!!
Do your M42 Yashinons have an A/M switch to be able to stop them down when used on a camera other than an M42 native mount? I have only one Yashinon lens (a 50/1.4) which is very good indeed, but only has auto mode so without some kind of "hack" it can only be used wide open on a non-M42 camera.
Here are a few shots from my recently-acquired 18mm f/2. I'm pretty happy with it so far, though it does seem to struggle to focus more in low light than the 35/1.4. I need to check which firmware it has and update if necessary.
It feels weird to have a wide-angle on the Fuji, I'm used to either 35 or 50mm.
Both night shots were taken wide open.

If you can forgive the sacrilege of posting a crappy snapshot from a little Canon point-and-shoot in the Takumar Club, here's what it looks like. The exterior dimensions are just 48cm high, 29cm wide and 32cm deep, but it holds as much as I need it to hold. In fact, I've found that having such a finite space to store things helps to keep LBA under control. Anything that isn't getting used often enough goes, to be replaced by something that will hopefully suit my tastes better.
On the top shelf at the front are the 18-55mmWR, Takumar 17mm Fisheye, and Super Takumar 55mm/2.0. Behind them are the Super Takumar 35mm/2.0, SMC Takumar 105mm/2.8, SMC Takumar 28mm/3.5, and a couple of other non-Takumar oddities. On the bottom shelf in front is the Samsung GX-10 (K10D) with the Super Takumar 20mm, and just visible behind it is the K-S1 with the SMC Takumar 24mm/3.5.
Serious collectors would want a much bigger version, but this one suits my needs just fine and cost under £100. Highly recommended if you live in a damp climate. I keep mine set to 35% humidity, but in the couple of seconds with the door open that it took to snap this photo the display had already gone up to 50%. And that's nowhere near ambient, which I don't think I've ever seen below 80%.

X-post. Just acquired this example, arrived today, PK mount, excellent condition, also has the focus limiters as well. I'm not sure that either of these mechanical features - zoomlock, focus limiters - really have that much utility. I think they are more USP's.
I haven't got round to writing up a conclusion to my 70-210mm tests, but if/when I do I may well suggest that this lens is #1 - specifically for consistent all round performance.

Took my old Vivitar Series 1 90-180mm F4.5 Flat Field zoom for a walk in the park today, shot some flowers, bees and ducks. Posted a few pics on the Vivitar club thread, here's one for this club.

Well I found this great source of m42 mount lens knowledge from a mention on Ken Wheeler Angry Photographer YouTube channel . I just purchase a new black Fuji X-T20 and he is very persuasive on the joys of high quality economical adapted M42 mount lenses for Fuji cameras. Your large data base of reviews for both Pentax and third party manufactured M42 mount lenses make the purchases from Ebay and elsewhere a lot easier. To help avoid the Lens dogs and find the gems while hunting for bargains . I've been shoot shooting film and digital cameras for over 40+ years , Canon, Olympus, Nikon and now Fuji . :) . Look forward to learn more about Pentax and M42 lenses . Hello again from Southern California. :D

Both the XC lenses produce great images in good light...add the next cheapest,27mm f2.8 and you got the start of a great system.i'm looking forward to end of month to see how they go on the new XE-3.

I'm not sure folks who have teased the 8 fps out of a K-3 think that 10 FPS should be a thing. I have sat in post and gone through 15 identical images, tossing only based on random choice, because there was no discernible difference. 8 FPS is one frame every .125s. 10 FPS is .1. Some people think that .025s makes a huge difference. Myself, I've been surprised how many times going back to the 4 FPS of the K-1 doesn't bother me. Most of the time my decisions now are based on whether I need the extra reach of the K-3.
Honestly, process a few 23 shot bursts with a K-3. See what you're getting. Much of the time the difference in what you get isn't worth the extra files you have to process. A lot of the time you get nothing special anyway. Nothing special is definitely better at 4 FPS.
I'd probably go for 9 FPS as part of an upgrade, but 7 FPS with focus confirmation turned on would be better.

Hello all,
After shooting with an analog Canon AE-1 for years and several (Samsung and Canon) compact digital cameras, I wanted a SLR again and for convenience and because we are in the 21st century, a DSLR.
So I compared starting with Canon, but quickly found (also with the help of this forum) the Pentax line. The K5 was exactly my balance between reasonable prices of used cameras and features. It arrived a few days ago and I am very very happy :)
I am looking forward to posting some photos soon,
cheers, Steffen

The increased price of the D850 once again demonstrates, high FPS and 4k video doesn't come cheap. Its great to have a system where you don't have to pay for those things if you don't want to. Choice is good.
