I have the Sigma 50-500 + Pentax 1.4 Duplicator combo and I can assure you that they work perfectly, without problems. Both in the Pentax K1 and with the Pentax K5-II. Previously I tried some sigma TCs and they were nothing more than a source of problems, with the Pentax duplicator, the problems were gone and the sigma TC, after removing the lenses, ended up in a magnificent extension tube for macro.

If you bought it as "MF only", you already had an indication that the thing wasn't as it should be. If the seller already warned that it was only manual, there would be a reason. If you think it's not right and you have the possibility to return it, return it, without thinking, and next time, think twice before you buy.

I don't think about any new equipment purchases, when I get the urge to buy something new, I look at the equipment I have and it goes away. I have more equipment than I usually need and use.
Of course, when no one hates candy and a new toy, it's always exciting.

Yes, I still have an ISTDL that I bought on a whim. It works perfectly, although I don't know how much life the shutter has left, it already has 30,000 shots. :)

Thank you all for your answers. It's funny, I've tried the flash on an * IstDL and it has worked, without the slightest problem, to see if I can get it to work on the K1.

Thank you for your reply. I have tried the flash on a K-1 and on a K5-II the problem persists, sometimes it worked, now it doesn't. However, I can switch from TTl to slave, turn on the support led light. I think it is a problem of contacts, but I see no way to fix it and I have tried, the unit is new, although it has slept for a while on the shelf without batteries of course. Any ideas... or do I consider buying another flash?

Hello I have a flash Metz mecablitz 26 AF-1, which does not end up going well, does not work, cleaned the contacts of the flash camera and remains the same. Where can I download the flash firmware? I know that Metz closed I can not find a way to download the firmwre. Thank you

I have a Sigma APO DG HSM 120-400mm F4.5-5.6, it is not the same model, since it is not stabilized, it works perfectly, both on a pentax K1, on a pentax K5-II and tested without problems on a K3 and on a K3-III.
What makes me think that the problem is in what other colleagues comment, that a firmware update of the lens is needed. Although they are objectives that are already a few years old, it is possible that you can find a technical service that is not from the brand, that can solve your problem.

I have a Tamron adaptall 500 BB f / 8, and a Tc X2 A01, while when I only use the 500 mm it works very well, a very good sharpness, when the tc x2 is placed on it, the matter changes, it becomes difficult to handle , almost better to put it on a tripod and if possible, heavy and stable, any movement or puff of air, looks like an earthquake in the viewfinder. For close hand shots it goes more or less well, but if you want to take photos of something distant ...
I use the Tc X2, but with the 70-210 (19AH), with which it gets along very well and sometimes with the 135 mm.
The truth is that I prefer to use it without the Tc. or if you want to use a TC, use the Tamron SP 1.4X 140F, although it is more difficult to find.

Merry Christmas
This year, my purchase has been, after thinking a lot and making comparisons with other cameras, a Nikon D500 and a Tamron 150-600 G2, for bird watching. My pentax K1 with its Sigma 50-500, they were slow for photography of birds in flight and the Pentax K3-III, I was not convinced enough.

Yes, there are few general questions, my contribution has been more of a complaint, because I will not be able to have new lenses from third brands, that is why I will not buy K3-III, (if you want a long telephoto lens, or buy the pentax 150- 450 or discontinued third-party lenses) and the lack of a flip-up screen, like the one on the K-1.
