Just completed replacing the green solenoid with a white one from an MZ-50 (it was even the correct polarity) and my K-S2 lives again! Thanks for the How-To....very clear and easy to follow!

Kitstar lenses were a "house" brand for a chain called Kits Cameras. We had them here in western Canada but I'm not sure how far they extended but I haven't seen one for many years (late 80's, early 90's); I see no reference to them when the name is Googled.
