Covid 19- Our Household Reality

The simple fact is viruses are real and have been with us from the beginning of time. We have billions of different viruses floating around on this planet. It's not like viruses are all of a sudden a new thing. To be in denial is quite foolish, just about as foolish as not believing humans exist and walk the planet. I won't go further than that. I highly suggest following the science and put all the nonsense behind us. Anti intellectualism seems to be the invogue thing.

Yes, on the USA we have the same problems with deniers, even some who fall ill with Covid refuse to believe that they have the virus.

I'll tell you this, from my experience with it - I was sick with a cough for a week or so, no other symptoms so I didn't pay much attention. Then one particular evening a fever hit me along with a sore throat and still the nagging cough, so I laid in bed and by morning I couldn't move. My legs were extremely sore and I couldn't get out of bed. My wife had to help me to the restroom and back and just doing that simple task wore me down to the core. I also had zero appetite and could barely eat for the better part of 4 days. Now, here's the strangest thing of all, after about 5 days or so I was able to move around and I felt like I was on the mend, for about 3 days I was feeling like I beat this thing, but "BAMB"! I feel so tired and run down right now and the cough is back, so are muscle aches.

I know this virus affects people differently, but from my experience this is the worst sickness I have contracted EVER! I believe I fall in the category of what they are calling "long-haulers". I just want it to end already, My wife has been sick for quite a while now also.

Thank you all for the responses. We are hunkered down, drinking fluids, eating soups. that's about all we can do at this point. I feel much better than when it first hit me, but my family is now paying the price. I have a very close eye on my wife. as of now. it seems like she should be able to get through this.

Hey folks,
I live in the greater Chicago area and Covid has been spiking here. Unfortunately for the wife and I, we have fallen victim to the virus. I have been sick for 8 weeks and my wife started showing heavy signs about 2 weeks ago, although she was coughing quite a bit, as far back as about 21 days ago or so. Today our daughter got test results back for my 9 year old granddaughter and she is positive along with my daughter and step-son.

When the virus hit me, it hit me hard for about 4 straight days. I couldn't get out of bed, I had a fever, my legs felt like I ran a marathon, I would cough so hard I thought I would bust a blood vessel in my head. I was extremely tired and had zero energy. Around day 5 or 6 I felt like I was beginning to fight the virus. I was able to move without help, I started to eat and gain some energy. By thanksgiving day I thought I had the virus beat, unfortunately this week I have been run down and coughing extremely hard again. Monday I return to see if I'm still testing positive. My wife has a horrendous cough and zero energy, she is at least able to eat although she says she can't taste or smell anything. I didn't get that symptom. I was able to smell and taste but I had just about every other symptom associated with Covid.

I wore the Fool For The City album out in high school. I kept putting the needle back on Slow Ride trying to figure the song out on guitar, also the track Terraplane Blues, I got all the rhythm down on Terraplane, but I was not a slide player, so the leads where not happening at that time.

Dweezil Zappa does a brilliant job covering his dad's song with the UH Hilo Jazz Orchestra. Maybe I will link it sometime soon.

What your favorite coffee brand and coffee machine

The Dunkins around our area serve better than average coffee made just the way you want it. If you want it black, you get it black, if you want to add, you can add. Even the Macchiatos aren't served sweet or creamy unless you request it that way. They never just serve you up a sweet , white coffee. That's not the way they do business. Where ever Dunkin gets their beans it hasn't changed in many, many years. A Standard cup of coffee is around $2.45, not a deal breaker, although priced about $1.00 higher than McDonalds regular coffee. I'm on the road about 50 hours a week and I have tried many coffee stops, Dunkin is good, but not the best. I prefer them over most of the fast food stops as far as coffee is concerned.

I alway enjoy the rumor mill. It makes me chuckle.

Dunkin has been in and around the Chicago area since I was a small child and I am now 56. Nothing new to many Midwest areas.

How are you finding this book so far?

I read this years back and I waffle a bit on how I felt about Reilly and his non-stop action events. I felt like I barely had time to breath and enjoy the story because I was bombarded with one action scene on top of another. For me the action became the leading character, the human element secondary.

I purchased what they call a 'Kindle Horror 20 Pack'. The problem with the series is navigation and clearly titled pages as to which book you are currently reading.

I recently started a vampire book based in post-apocalyptic Chicago, but for the life of me I currently do not remember the title or the author. I just checked my reader but the book title is not mentioned at top of pages nor is the author's name. I could jump back to the start and grab the title, but the navigation is not made easy either. Once I go back I may have to struggle a bit to find my current page and I simply do not have the energy to mess around this morning.

I will post title after I have had my coffee. :)

OK, after some jumping around I actually found the title and author. (Thank you coffee)

I'm not a huge fan of vampire novels (although I have read my fair share). This book was chosen as a random read suitable for the halloween season.

That Gold 200 appears to be showing a lot of grain. I'm a bit surprised at this 200 film.
