My kids were in a high school musical, so I decided to try out m KP at 3200 and 6400 ASO. I believe I went with a shutter of 1/250 on most of these. Used a Sigma 70-200 2.8, shot most of these at 3.5 and higher.

Thank you! I am figuring out that you need to shoot 500 pics to come up with 20 you can actually use.

Simply put, I can capture volleyball images that I could not with the K-50. Easily shoots at 3200 ISO, super fast continuous shutter. This camera is a winner. All of these were shot with a 35-70 Tamron 2.8 AF @ 3200 ISO, 1/500. All were underexposed to freeze the action but I was able to lighten everything later.

Back in the film days, I was a Contax guy. While everything was super expensive, the Zeiss optics and Contax workmanship was second to none.
My last Contax was the 167MT. What a joy that unit was. Most of the Contax line has either a leather-like or rubbery covering of the body which felt so good to hold.
I’m guessing Contax decided to fold the tents with the new digital formats, which is regrettable.
That’s when I switched over to Pentax.

FWIW, I got my new black KP for about $900 delivered, including two batteries, 3 grips, an SD card, a flash, a nifty back pack, a mini-tripod, and a partridge in a pear tree.

I can say this: The continuous firmware/software/update questions are putting a damper on my renewed photography enthusiasm. I have a very expensive lens, want a better camera, and now the lens seems incompatible- or at least needs some sort of updating assuming it’s available.
Meanwhile i just popped a $ grand on a camera body I can’t use.

I am hoping that the higher ASO capability of the K-P, as well as the better AF capability of the camera, might allow me to go to 1/750 or even 1/1000 at ISO 3200.
That will be an ambitious assumption but if it works, the arrangement might well cover a multitude of sins on my part.
With this last weekends pictures, I went manual 1/500, 2.8, 1600 ISO and they were underexposed. I used the simple editing software of Microsoft office to bring them to correct.
