@Wheatfield...indeed elephants have also come in handy on a couple of occasions and after a few experiments am also coming to understand how as exposure times lengthen "the need for really accurate exposure time becomes less and less"...as before my interest was/is purely based on the desire to not have to use the stopwatch on my phone as on several occasions recently the cold temperatures wiped the battery out on it really quickly and I was back to elephants again...albeit very cold elephants

Really good question....

(1) Favourite shots are pulled aside on computer and gone through to try and see how to improve/learn more

(2) After living with them on screen for a while the favourite favourites get printed at 11" x 16" but occasionally at 16" x 23" then rotated as wall space is limited

(3) 18 months ago asked myself the very same question as in "what am I going to do with my photos ?" and put on first ever local exhibition (14 images)

(4) Share favourite shots with friends and family

I read and learn a lot from this forum but rarely get to contribute to a discussion...but now I can...and would like to add another massive thumbs up for Pentax WR...have recently been traveling with a K5 ii and a K3 ii...for two weeks they were both repeatedly exposed to heavy snowfall and never saw temperatures higher than -8C...one day the K3 ii was out for almost three hours in a strong wind with drifting snow at -26C...ice forming where snow was getting blown onto the body and filter was a problem but a fully charged battery lasted well over two hours and even though it is rated for "only" -10C both the camera bodies and lenses performed faultlessly...am one very impressed owner

@normhead - years of experience is one thing...being able to condense that experience into a concise explanation that is comprehensible to one unschooled is no small thing...your words enable some key concepts to take root and that makes me happy at the start of my journey
