Fixing a jamming focusing ring on an FA 100mm Macro?

Hello everyone!

I hope this is in the right place so correct me if i'm wrong.

I have a Pentax FA 100mm Macro f2.8 and the focusing ring hits something internally at around 2' so i cant reach infinity. As far as i can tell, sending it in for repairs would be about $250 Canadian rubles, at which point i may be better off just buying another one. Aside from the dings, the lens was working great and the glass is very clean.

I'm a pretty handy person, made lots of small repairs on things before but never done a lens repair so i'm looking for some advice on this before i start taking it apart and try to see if i can fix it myself.

I appreciate your thoughts!
