So I just started with the K1 a couple of weeks ago and just got some lens in other than the 28-105 kit lens. This was with the Firefly 15mm hand held No HDR just simple PP for contrast and a 16x9 crop. Just as an FYI I have been shooting Nikon and Leica for the last 15 years and the K1 has to be one of the best I have used.

Frederic, and others have you tried using focus stacking in your macro shots? I have yet to do this outside of the camera and in most cases use the Oly EM1 for macro as it has focus stacking built into the camera. Anyone else?
Cheers

Been away for awhile and love seeing all of these great photos. I was lucky enough to find a Tokina 28-70 MM 2.8 mint condition on ebay for $200. These are some of the photos from this lens. The lens is fairly sharp and I like the colors it produces.

A couple with the kit lens 28-105. Not bad for a zoom lens.

I do some of the same with raw to Jpeg using Aperture. Afterwards, I use some of the tools in Topaz. There are so many options it is an endless pallet of tools to work with. I end up producing several images from the original each with a different look. Her is one for example

These are a few from my most recent travels at the Smokey Mountain National Park.. Taken with the Irix 15 mm for the most part. The files from the K1 are so clean very little PP needed.

Nice example of the Irix. I am sorely tempted the more I see posts from it like yours & Frederic's.
Question - Is the Firefly the same glass, just in a lighter non weather resistant barrel, or is there other differences? I'd prefer the lighter package, if optics are same. (and the lighter price of course)
Eric
So same optics, same weatherproof, just a plastic housing is the difference. I was skeptical at first now I am sold. Love the lens.

Welcome to the Pentax club. I also left Nikon after some 20 years. What a revelation. Love the K1 and what I can get out of it. Enjoy!

So I finally got some lens in today. Here is one with the Irix 15mm, what a find. Can't believe how sharp it is! The image was shot much wider, and I cropped to a 16x9 for this view. The K1 is one superb camera as well. I am now shooting in the Tav mode and really works well for me.
Having shot Nikon-Leica these past 15 years this has been a real eye-opener for me, I think I just became a fanboy of Pentax :)

Having fun with the kit lens 28-105 while I wait on some prime lens. This spider was just hanging in space would have loved to have a macro with me. I kinda like the softness of the capture. I look forward to posting more once I get some lens to work with

Having shot Nikon FF these past 20 years, did not know what to expect from the K1. I am truly impressed with the colors and dynamic range. Here are a few from this weekend.

Out for my hike this morning and already the fall colors are starting. I am truly enjoying the K1 dynamic range. I am using aperture for my raw processing and the files have lots of room to work with.

So I am on the road early in the AM and my K1 on the seat next to me with a 100mm macro attached, I see the garbage truck driving ahead and well you can see the results. I can't believe I was able to get this shot while holding the camera on the steering wheel. The stabilization in camera is awesome. as well as the dynamic range in low light. My next best camera has been the Nikon DF (D4 sensor), but the K1 offers so much more. Glad I took the chance of buying the camera. ---------- Post added 09-13-17 at 04:05 AM ---------- The wrong lens listed it was the 50 MM
