Glue under the contact see red arrow, with a very little amount of glue to hold the contact in position and give it the sustainability against the torque.

Never glue anything if you don't know what you do!

Sad to say, I had two times the problem with it, once with already mentioned 28-105 and again with the 150-450.

I recommend gluing the bent back contact with second glue. I had this issue with a 28-105, and fixed it with out gluing and after a time the kontakt was broken.

1) You become used to it very quickly.
2) I would say yey, it is very good for carrying with it. I hold it also in the left hand when I take handheld pictures.
3) With the tripod mount, or in the arms like a baby. Some times also with a peak design slide.
4) I use it 90% hand held, tripod only in some cases like in a hide.
