Hi Eric,
Thank you, I'm pretty sure I was able to fully operate the camera without film before.
I agree it's not a huge problem, but not ideal for testing and trying out stuff..

Yes it should normally work without film, but check the mode dial, make sure it's not at the PF_ setting ..

Z-1 error without film

Hi!
I have a small but annoying problem with my trusty old Z-1.
When I remove a film from it and close the door, the camera will directly try to load a new film, but as there isn't any, it will give a film transport error. It somehow always 'thinks' a new film is placed when it's empty. The work-around is... to place a new film, which it will then successfully load. Not a big deal as the camera works fine otherwise, but it's annoying. I was wondering if there is some sort of sensor blocked or malfunctioning.

Does any of you know what could be causing this, is it easy to fix?

Cheers,
Albert

FA 77 limited - increasing friction turning focussing ring?

Hi,

I have a question about a second hand 77mm 1.8 limited that I bought.
Turning the focussing ring from infinity to 0,7m, I noticed a slight increase in resistance approaching 0,7m. It’s subtle, but I was just wondering if anyone who has the same lens can check if this is normal.

My K5 AF motor doesn’t seem to have any problem with this, focussing on nearby objects works just fine.

Thanks!
