Streets The Charm of K10D

Thanks, Todd!

On a side note, I noticed an SDM issue with 50-135 (noticed that it's not focusing on K-x), so I may need to convert to screwdrive. Since it doesn't matter for K10d, wondering whether I should proceed with the conversion or simply ignore it.

Glad all of you liked them!

true, K10D can output vivid images with minimum editing which is impressive.

The classic K10D, old but doesn't disappoint, the colors are fantastic! I usually shoot with 28/55mm on FF but decided to carry K10D+50-135 this time.

Hopefully, you'll like it.

Pentax has been a fantastic journey and I still enjoy Pentax for film or occasionally shooting with old k10d.

However, Pentax no longer fits the bill for everyday photography, particularly the bulky cameras, and the OVF are real dealbreakers for me. So not coming back till Pentax embraces mirrorless.

k10d - which firmware?

I have some Pentax lenses FA35/FA50/50-135 and so when I saw K10d in brand new condition, picked it up. One intention is to convert 50-135 to screw mount though SDM also works fine currently.

K10d has 1.0 firmware. What are your suggestions for the firmware version I should update it to so that I can patch 50-135 and then keep using it in the future too? I heard the latest firmware does not allow it. Any link for old firmware?

Thanks

In a long thread, returning to the top is inconvenient.

Also, in most forums, "originally" is used for the original poster so it's kind of expected behavior now. It also distinguishes other people's replies from the original poster replies.

ok, however, it also uses the phrase "Originally posted by " for others' replies too which could be misleading (though technically correct).

For example, I picked up a random thread HELP : Can 1800$ lens: Olympus 7-14mm f/4 Zuiko Digital work auto with Pentax body? - PentaxForums.com

The post was started by "Athanassios" but then you will see some replies marked "Originally posted by pschlute", possibly "Originally" could be removed here.

I think it will be nice to have an OP indicator in discussion threads that shows who originally started the thread. The OP indicator could be in the replies and left side column.

Currently, replies show "originally posted" for comments which IMO is slightly misleading.

Thanks

I like the M24-35, small and has the flexibility of a zoom. Covers your preferred focal length 25mm. If you prefer prime, Sigma 24mm super wide II is great too, sharp across the frame compared to Pentax A & M 24mm primes.

interesting (and encouraging :)))

Saw a couple of including FA50 and FA77 but FA35 does not have a nameplate or screen on the front screw like FA50. Any particular pointer will be helpful.

Any disassembly pointer, please. The disassembly database does not have FA35.

Yes, that's a possibility. Any suggestions on a fix?

Thanks

Picked up FA35 in visually very clean condition. However, as you can see, only a small portion of the center is clean, and the rest is blurred.

As I mentioned, the lens is visually very clean. However, the manual focus produces gear sound which makes me suspect that someone misaligned the element.

Any idea? I can post more sample pictures if that helps.

Thanks

I was trying to open mine, and though I could open the rear assembly, I am unable to open the front part. It's just unscrewing the top part by hand or do I need to do something else also?

Thanks

A few random street pictures from a recent trip. I will be happy to get feedback/comments (could only upload a few because of storage - I need to clean my previous posts)
