Madrid?

---------- Post added 12-22-23 at 10:44 PM ----------

Seems like ages since I post here overall... but my brief list includes my favorite Pentax lens...

M 28/2.8 first version - mine apparently is an exceptional copy. Not bragging on my ability but on the lens'... It is pure magic.
Astoria | Randall's Island | LIC | Manhattan by Edgar Omar, on Flickr

M 35/2.8 which I like but for some reason not my fav 35mm
Airtram de Roosevelt Island by Edgar Omar, on Flickr

M 50/1.7 which is an amazing 1.7 lens... easier to use than the 50/1.4 (A version) for some reason...
City from Spanish Harlem by Edgar Omar, on Flickr

M 80-200mm 4.5 which is an astonishing and ultra cheap zoom glass
M 80-200mm 4.5-505373-1 by Edgar Omar, on Flickr

Some of these shots have been featured here in this thread over the years, just disclosing.

X-Mas music in the Puerto Rico I grew up with the family (1980s-1990s)... Song is older than this, but this is part of my X-mas youth soundtrack

Honestly, you're 100% on this.

I have a train station 4 blocks away from my home that would drop me off at Penn Station within 45-50 mins, door to door.

At any other stage of my life, I'd taken an afternoon and headed there, or a Sunday morning (Sat they close Shabbos). Right now, dealing with a 6 YO and an 11 MO are taking a toll on having "my own" life.

After I saw your comment I said to my self "man you need to get out more"; would've been nice walking around BH undisturbed with $200 to burn... Well, it could have been a bad idea as well, you know, GAS...

Thank you!

Thus far I've only printed a few of the kids and family - fun, but not something I want to share online.

I will eventually look at some of my old shots to see what fits the frame. I'll post here if anything good comes out.

I am also inclined to start shooting at the 1:1 aspect ratio framing, some shots - not all the time. I reckon it adds a bit of fun to shooting. My E-M1 does this aspect ratio, so that should be easier there.

One thing - I read about Zink and was disatisfied, especially after seeing some YouTube results videos (1-1-1 comparisons, Kodak or Polaroid vs Instax vs Zink - Zink always was "bad"... the better one according to the video was the first, but the Instax I think held its own). I also read that Zink may fade quicker than instax... The last thing I disliked about Zink was the sticky backs - they do not make non-sticky back paper...

But if you go for it and it works for you, please share! Sometimes reviwers and forums are "inaccuarate".

I wanted to thank you all for sharing your thoughts on this!

I am very thankful for your inputs and ideas.

Everyone gonna go bonkers, but I got myself a straight consumer product, but one that thus far I LOVE...

I got an Instax Square Link Printer (for mobile device via bluetooth). Got as well a total of 80 prints (they go for about 0.90 per print).

This is awesome, not only does it print your mobile shots (I reently got a Samsung S23, so it is a nice camera phone), but also, if you import your digital files to your mobile, then you can print those as well. Pretty neat.

They had a mini, square and wide version... I went with square just because of issues I read re the wide that images will get cropped... You can message me if you want more info, I did a good 10 hrs of research on the instax and other mobile printer devices!

Thanks folks!

Hey fellahs,

So, yep I got gifted $200 from BH.

I don't "need" anything... but what suggestions can I get to spend it. I mostly use K-Mount, A-Mount, M43.

I was looking at the panasonic 20/1.7 but it is 98 over the budget... I could in theory get rid of my Sigma 19/2.8 and at least cover a big portion of those $98...

Anything outside of camera gear comes to mind?

Sorry, did not mean to make it a competition...

This is it right here! This is what got me off the GAS - everything I get new, will usually be better than what was there before, yet there is still something out there even better.

I gave up!

TY!

I must say I am a bit out of practice... been shooting the kids and family on Aperture priority MF and AF when available.

Need to get back on the horse. I aing heavily on my E-M1 as the main body. I dislike the 4:3 size-sensor, rather have regular crop, but the camera is a dream (for my taste).

I had posted long ago about getting a 21mm lens for it, gotta search back my posts and DMs. I just got $200 voucher from my old co-workers for B&H, as I changed offices (no longer in the Bronx, now in Queens, 30 mins closer to home). I will likely use that voucher for a 21mm m43 lens.

I was able to harvest over 50 of these from a single plant in my backyard (Carolina Reapers).

Ready to harvest (Rokor 58/1.4)

Green, months before harvest (K 100/4 Macro)

So far I've made two great hot sauces with my harvest.

The first, I used 6 reapers for a product of 6-5oz bottles (think 1 pepper per bottle)... lime and grapefruit squeezed, apple cider vinegar, NYS Honey (Wildflower), red onion, garlic cloves, green-bell pepper, carrot, and passion fruit frozen concentrate. PH 3.5

For the second, because the idiot in me believed that the first one did not produce enough heat, was done basically the same way, but rather than 6 Carolina Reapers, I used 11 Reapers for a 6-5oz bottle batch. Other changes to the recipe were, rather than the green-bell peper, I used two sweet peppers from my garden, and rather than paasion fruit frozen concentrate I used 6 fresh strawberries. PH here was a bit harder to bring down, had to settle for PH 4-to-4.5

I believe that because of the fresh strawberries the second sauce is thicker. Oh, and it is fierce! Love it in soups and meats. The first recipe is more popular and goes well on anything (rice, sandwich, salads...)

Ohh well, just figure I give an update of my whereabouts, been a long time.

Thanks for the recommendation for EC.

I was around in the 1990s, but was a bit more injured with hip-hop at the time. Obviously I know because Soundgarden and Cornell, but never bought the album :(

Slowhand Album.

My first Eric Clapton experience (I'm in early 40s). I really dig this album... loving the blues/country mix feel it has... any follow ups to be recommended?

Hey folks... funny to say that I ask for a friend. But truly I do. I wish I was asking for myself :D

So, looking for a wide fast lens, zoom or prime, below 28mm.

My friend has the FE 28-70 3.5/5.6 and is too slow for indoor shooting (think family shots, kids, wife, belly...)

Not a professional, but I think his budget is greater than anything I've budget for myself. But those who've interacted with me know that my gear is never the latest or shinniest.

Thanks a always!

Thanks for the good wishes... Believe it or not, I am still trying to land my forever job (something with permanency within government) - I will find it, just it is easier to look whilst still employed :) I learnt from my past, not gonna wait until I am out of the gig to look for the next one.

I'll take intermittent sailing and rowing, so long as I can move forwards ;)
