as a pentax 645, olympus m4/3 and sony alpha user my plan is to spend sony enough money to entrench their sensor leadership - no matter if their actual camera is classleader or not! because sensor leadership is the key to future success! (people should stop talking about investments in photo-gear - gear is more burned money than a good investment. and profssional photographers more economic stavelings than economic winners..!) ;-)

at the end of the day fuji gfx is overrated! (i'm a pentax 645z owner too...with all the newer digital 645 lenses + *300 and 45 in 67! i can use the 45 as a tilt/shift solution on my 645z! i'm using sony alpha like you do! and it's not a matter of money! but sony fullframe is great, especially my f2.8 400gm. and wih my cambo a can use all of my 645/67 lenses as a tilt/shift solution) so i think it makes no sense to change the system because the fuji lens-roadmap is not very special. as a "pro-company you NEED nativ tilt/shift lenses and a lot of fast lenses for sure!)

if i would like to use the best of the best, i'd use REAL medium format! a phase one xt...!

but in real life, i'm using only 30% of my cameras possibilities - despite i do fine art pigment prints up to dinA0! but the truth is, my mac pro late 2013 with 48gb ram is limitating!!!

so i'll never go up to 100mp because if you want to you can stitch pictures or shift a larger picture!

and you can lend such a monster if you want easy cheese! ;-)

you can use all pentax 645/67 lenses on sony/canon/nikon/leica mirrorless by using a cambo actus! (and you will have mulitple tilt/shift options!) only stupid people dump MF lenses!!! :-)

since i bought a cambo actus for mirrorless to use my 645/67 lenses i give a shit about if pentax/ricoh will stay alive or will die! no need to buy into another system than my sony alpha! considering fuji...but in real the only interesting mf-system would be a phase one xt...but this makes really no sense for me! ;-)

fact is: pentax 645 has a perfect opportunity - recent high megapixel cameras (sony a7riv, panasonic sr1, fuji hfx100, hasselblad x1dii etc...!) have a terrible pixel pitch - large sensors with small pixel!!! the result is a terrible diffraction, really bad for landscape and architectural photography!!! pentax should use a fullframe mf sensor, not more than 50mp but with large pixels! a lot of people are waiting for such a camera...! ;-)

true! i use pentax 645z with 645 and 67 lenses, sony e-mount with sony and zeiss lenses and olympus with small primes and a 300mm tele! think i'll buy a cambo actus to use all my pentax lenses for tilt/shift - but i think now i have to wait for useful things comming on the road! i'm interested in large fine art prints and i think there are 4 options for me! 1. there is a perfect 645z successor 2. hasselblad's x1d successor is much better than the first model 3. fuji will come with a great gfx 100 but with better ergonomics and built quality and design 4. sony will provide a stunning alpha 7riv that makes 44x33 useless! for me it is important to can use my flash system and my lee filter system with all my gear across platforms! this is the most important thing!

don't worry, i use all 645 dfa lenses and a 67 f4.0 45 + 67 300 ifed! and some sony gm and zeiss loxia lenses and some olympus primes incl. the 4.0 300! and my pentax 645z! to invest in optics is the best idea in photography because it is a long lasting investment! ;-)

and second, 100mp is usefull to produce large prints "every" medium photographer is interested in! ;-) you do not need 100mp to upload instagram or facebook pics - and it is not very hsefull for journalists or sports photographers! ;-)

@alex645 i'm not dumping my pentax 645z but it is not very practical for tilt/shift use, especially for fineart landscape and arcitecture photography! i use actually a zörk shift adapter without tilt! and for view camera use you need mirrorless to use old lenses! ;-)

i use pentax 645 and pentax 67 lenses, in other words, i invested a lot of money and time in this company and i don't like the uncertain outlook because of the pentax brand! but this is ricoh policy and not very smart and intelligent! the goog thing is, there are usable solutions for me!

1) upgrade my 645z, if ricoh will spend the successor a large 100mp sensor - or the new 645 successor with the 100mp crop sensor is really perfect in autofocus and inbody image-stabilization!

2) Buy the new fuji gfx 100c (july) usable with my CAMBO G and all may 645 and 67 lenses and with my sony-e and my olympus m4/3 system / think this is the most possible solution!

3) the new hasselblad X1D II usable with my CAMBO G and all my 645 and 67 and sony e and olympus m4/3 lenses / don't think hasselblad is up to it...!

would like to see a large medium format sensor for pentax 645, otherwise what is the reason not to change the system..?

---------- Post added 02-08-19 at 10:47 AM ----------

ad 3) you can use the cambo g only with mirrorless cameras like my sony-e and my olympus m4/3 (and fuji gfx and hasselblad x1d) and all pentax 645 and 67 lenses but not with my olympus m4/3 and my sony-e lenses! sorry my fault! ;-)

the point is, i spent $15000 for z and lenses.. ricoh/pentax should take care of their customers. I use sony e-mount and olympus beside and especially sony was my best idea to join. ricoh/pentax is not able to provide a usefull shift possibility and a decent studio light usability. forget priolight! and they are not able to build bew fast lenses they are up to date instead this, they are playing with electronic gadgets and ancient photo concepts! i hope sony will bring a 50/60mp a9r for my large prints, profoto is now connected with sony. i hope pentax will wakeup (if fuji is not interrested they should sell it to a company more up to it) or i have to be a game changer. think fuji is interesting and more conteporary!
