This lovely lady established her residence just outside our breakfast nook. We found her in August 2023 and watched her until December 2023 when she vanished. Most likely from predation from a bird or bat. She did leave us with an egg pouch so in the spring we may have more of her kind.

I had just received my K-10 which was my first Pentax in 2009.
We took a trip to West Virginia and was camping at an RV spot and the guests next to us told us about this amazing place to take photos.
The place was Babcock State Park, which was about 80 miles from us, but we decided to make the trip to check it out.
When we arrived, it was early afternoon and there was Glade Creek Grist Mill, and the stream was running at a good pace due to recent rains.
I took out the camera and a tripod and set up to take photos of this amazing place with the water fall in the foreground and the grist mill in the background.
This photo has inspired me to continue taking photos of various subjects and with a series of Pentax Cameras. I now own a K-3ii camera and several lenses both Pentax and Sigma.
This photo won 2nd place in one of the monthly contests on this site.
I have been taking snap shots for a long time, but finally realized there is more to photography than snap shots. This realization caused me to become a member of Shreveport Photographic Society and my education in Phtography really began with this membership.

Each time I remove the battery from my K-3 for a charge the date and time needs to be reset. Is there another battery in the camera that keeps this active, and can I easily replace it to solve this problem?

I'd like to enter a photo in the "Bridges" contest. However, when I try to upload I get an error message stating that my allowed imports is too full to allow the upload.
How do I clear my photo box so I can enter my photo?

This is the Belcher Chapel and Performance Center on the campus of Le Tourneau University in Longview, Texas.
This photo was taken at 10:03 PM with the Pentax "Kit Lens".
It was awarded a score of 13 out of a possible 15 in a monthly competition of The Shreveport Photographic Society in Shreveport, Louisiana.

This bridge is located just south of Columbia, Missouri. It runs beside the Missouri River and is used as a hike and bike trail across central Missouri.

The last lens I bought was a Sigma 8-16MM from a local dealer in Saint Louis.
I had mentioned to him that I was in the market for a wide angle lens and he directed me
to the Sigma lens and said that his price for that lens was far less expensive than a compariable Pentax lens.
Dealers are not recommending Pentax due to the price difference, so if Pentax wants their market share to
increase they must be willing to be competitive.
