Not bad!! Take more shots and some dark frames. I spent about $60 to get StarTools software for processing. My focus and tracking could be better too. This is how I did it. The K-1ii is about the same as the K-1.
Great Orion nebula (M42) and Running Man nebula (NGC 1977) in Orion.
Pentax K-1ii in crop mode with Pentax HD* 300mm f4, using in camera astrotracer for tracking, 127 10 second light frames, 8 dark frames, ISO 100, f4, stacked with Deep Sky Stacker, processed with StarTools and Photoshop Elements 21.

I took 350 10 second photos with my Pentax K-1ii in crop mode with my Pentax HD *300mm f4 using the in camera astrotracer function for tracking @ f4, ISO 100. I stacked them with Deep Sky Stacker along with 16 dark frames, processed the result with StarTools, and then used Photoshop Elements 21.

I took 10 second photos with my 300mm lens @ f4 ISO 100. I can get up to 30 seconds with the 300mm. Stacking photos will improve the signal to noise ratio.

cdd29, I tilted my camera by adjusting the lens collar so the comet would be sideways. I used my Pentax K-1 ii with the Pentax 300mm f/4 on a sturdy tripod with a remote shutter release. This was 17 light images at f/4, ISO 400, and 20 sec. using "Astrotracer" in the camera for tracking. Stacked in Deep Sky Stacker with 10 dark, 12 flat, and 12 bias images. Processed with StarTools and tweaked with Photoshop Elements 21.

Pentax K-1 ii with 2x rear adapter on Astrotech AT127EDT (f7.5), a five inch triplet refractor telescope with a 952mm focal length (1900mm with the rear adapter). 154 Saturn images @ ISO 100, 1/10 sec., 207 Jupiter images @ ISO 100, 1/15 sec. Preprocessed with PIPP, stacked 40% and 50% with AutoStakkert!3, processed with StarTools and tweaked with photoshop elements 21.
I can't figure out how to take movies at those settings to process thousands of images to get the "lucky images".

I had taken six photos at 3:03 AM CST with my Pentax K1ii at prime focus on the Astrotech AT127EDT @f7.5, 1/20 sec., ISO 400, and wound up with a five image stack using PIPP and AutoStakkert. I processed the stack with StarTools, which allowed me to reduce the noise significantly, and tweaked it with Photoshop Elements 21. It is a learning experience.

I do not have a tracking mount. Astrotracer works well sometimes. I have a sturdy tripod and a remote shutter release.
