PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
Pentax FA 31mm f/1.8 Limited Made in Japan Asking Price
860 USD Item Location
Toronto (Canada) Item Description
Up for sale, FA 31/1.8 Limited, Made in Japan. $860. This has seen some use, with some fine scratches on the focus ring and some rub marks on the hood and caps. I'd rate it 8/10 cosmetically. Includes original caps, pouch and box. I'm also including a barely used 58mm Hoya HMC Super C-PL filter. It has no front threads, so perfect for a lens with a push on cap!
Fully working condition with no marks on the glass, no oil on the blades or other defects and well cared for and much enjoyed while in my possession. There is likely minor internal dust, and I'll give you 10 days to review in case there's anything I missed! Pentax has become a distant second system for me, but this remains one of my favourite people lenses. I'll try and find some pics today taken with this lens.
Prices include shipping and paypal. Please pay in your own currency, USD or CAD. North America only. Are you the original owner of the item being sold?

I've transitioned over to Sony, and have too much money tied up in gear, so it's time to let these go (again--sold them, missed them, bought them again). I'll miss these beautifully constructed and compact lenses!
They are all in fully working condition with no marks on the glass, no oil on the blades or other defects and they have been well cared for and much enjoyed while in my possession. There is likely minor internal dust in all of them, and I'll give you 10 days to review in case there's anything I missed! (though return shipping is on you ;) )
Prices include shipping and paypal. Please pay in your own currency, USD or CAD. North America only. FA 31/1.8 Limited; Made in Japan. $910. This has seen the most use of the three lenses here, with some fine scratches on the focus ring and some rub marks on the hood and caps. I'd rate it 8/10 cosmetically. Includes original caps, pouch and box. I'm also including a barely used 58mm Hoya HMC Super C-PL filter. It has no front threads, so perfect for a lens with a push on cap! FA 43/1.9 Limited; Made in Japan. SOLD $510. I think I'm the third owner and it looks like it has seen very little use. I used it as a compact short portrait lens. Still, there are a couple of very minor marks here and there, mostly discovered while taking these pictures! I'd rate it 9/10. Includes original caps, hood, pouch and box. FA 77/1.8 Limited; Made in Japan. SOLD $710. In great shape, with only one minor scratch on the focus ring and some minor scratches on the caps. 9/10. Includes original caps, pouch and box. The box has a tear in the side where it has that little window, but is still boxy. Zhong Yi Lens Turbo for PK-NEX. I'll let this go for $140 only with the purchase of one of the above lenses, or for free if you buy all three! :) What is it? It lets you use Pentax lenses on a Sony NEX with a wider Field of View than you get on an APS-C sensor, plus it gives you an extra 2/3 of a stop in exposure. I've found this adapter to be well built, with no detriment to sharpness (and no 'purple spot' issue as seen on the Nikon version), though it does seem to have a problem with infinity focus: When I use the hard stop at infinity it focuses maybe 60 feet away, probably dependent on the focal length. Still, I got it to try the FA 77 on my NEX-7 and was not disappointed! Once all the FA's are sold, I'll offer this separately. DA 16-45 f/4. SOLD $225. I bought this a few months ago on this forum (from EarlVonTapia) but haven't used it more than once. In fantastic shape, 9+/10. Includes original caps, hood and box, and a HOYA HMC UV (0) filter.

PM replied--and I just clarified what lens was in for service (though I admit it spoils a bit of the fun).
Thanks!
The Tamron 28-75 has been sold :) ---------- Post added 05-07-12 at 08:19 PM ---------- I've had questions regarding the F*300 issue. It wasn't easy to diagnose or explain, but it is a mechanical issue, not an electrical one. I haven't looked into getting it fixed, nor would I personally--you can do what you want if you buy it :) --because it's an easy problem to work around, and it's a cheap copy of a great lens.
Here's a shot at f/6.3, as reported by the camera. You can see, though, that the aperture is wide open by the circles off to the right.
But it's still able to stop down. The next shot is at f/11, as reported by the camera, but the aperture is physically at f/8. You can see by the sunstars that the aperture is closing.
One more at f/8 (f/11 in exif)
f/5.6 (f/8)
Confused yet?
And another couple wide open: |

Getting rid of the last of my Pentax kit, with one more lens to follow once it returns from service (hint, it's a DA*16-50 having its motor replaced and getting the full treatment--oops, that's been SOLD!).
Prices are in USD or CAD--your choice. Shipping is by Canada Post Expedited Parcel, which usually takes less than a week.
Pentax DA* 55mm f/1.4 SDM, a modern classic. Wonderful portrait lens, with a beautiful, compact, rugged, weather-sealed build. I am the original owner, and have just had the SDM motor replaced. Works like new. Very little visible wear on the lens, but the hood has a few marks--nothing structural, but doesn't look new anymore. No marks on the glass, and aperture/focus is perfect. $625 shipped and paypalled. Includes box, paperwork, pouch, original caps and hood. Pentax DA* 50-135mm f/2.8. Fantastic build and IQ, remarkably light and compact for what it does! I bought this lens used and it's still in excellent condition. No marks on the glass, and aperture/focus is perfect. The only thing to point out is that there are a few scratches on the mount, and a few chips in the dark grey area that you can see in the pictures. Still, it works like new and I've never had an issue with it. Oh, and the sticker over the CE appears to be peeling. SOLD $775 shipped and paypalled. Includes box, pouch, original caps and hood. Pentax F* 300mm f/4.5. Built like a tank, but this lens has been through a bit as can be seen in the photos. The removable tripod foot has also been altered (not by me) to be shorter. I love the compact build and the built-in hood, and the light weight makes it a great lens to handhold. Glass has no marks, but a bit of dust. Focus is fast and the aperture is snappy, but it does have an issue: When the lens is at f/4.5-f/6.3, it behaves as if it is wide open. When stopping down after that it is one stop behind. This is not an oily or stuck aperture, but the aperture lever seems a bit misplaced, as it meters properly when you apply -1 stop exposure compensation. Once you get used to that, it's a great lens to use.
I'm also including a like new Vivitar 1.4x AF TC with this lens! SOLD $675 shipped and paypalled. The TC has the box and both caps; the F* comes with the lens, tripod mount and original caps. Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8. Great range, and this copy looks like new. I don't think it's even been outside. I purchased it on eBay and found it had a focus issue. Finally brought it in to Amplis photo (the only Tamron repair facility in Canada) and they adjusted the focus and cleaned the lens. SOLD $325 shipped and paypalled. Comes with the box and original hood and caps.
Photos to follow--thanks for reading!

I agree with you--these are some of the best primes out there!
I think that Pentax has some of the most desirable primes, and they're so remarkably compact.
I've been gravitating towards my FF Sony gear though, so I'm keeping a couple DA* lenses and that's about it!
Thanks for all the PM's and well wishes--surely a unique group, Pentaxians!

All lenses come with original boxes and accessories, and are 95% of original condition or better. SOLD DA 21, 40 and 70 -- the original DA Limited Trio; all in EX++ condition, with very slight marks on the front caps, all mechanically and optically perfect
$1150 US / CAN shipped and paypalled for all three; If I find buyers for all three, I may split. SOLD D FA 100 Macro WR -- super sharp, no flaws at all. The hood shows that's it's been used a bit, but otherwise very hard to tell.

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
DA*300/4 Asking Price
$875 USD, shipped and paypalled Item Location
Toronto, ON (Canada) Item Description
This DA*300/4 is in very good condition. A few dings around the front as seen in photos (inherited from a previous owner), but optically and mechanically it's in top shape! The hood is brand new, and with the hood on the lens looks almost new as well. The tripod collar shows some brassing on the knob and some paint loss on the foot.
With box, case, hood and caps.
Beautiful lens, great size, speed and the AF is really fast! Mostly using Sony now, so need to pay for that stuff--honestly wish Sony had an equivalent with this build and size!
Price is in USD (my shopping currency), but shipping from Canada. Paypal fees and express shipping, with full insuarnce, are included in the price within North America. Canadians have the option of paying via Interac Email Money transfer and pay at par... and save on the conversion and all those freakin' taxes!!! Are you the original owner of the item being sold?

Vivitar AT-22 Tubes with A contacts. Yes, that's right. AT-22 Tubes with A contacts. They're in excellent condition with one scratch which can be seen in the pics.
$180 shipped in NA. The 25mm Uniplus extension tube by Kenko is no longer made, and this one's in mint condition. It maintains full AF with both screwdrive and SDM lenses--most tubes don't work well with SDM lenses, let alone AF with them (especially in Live View, where this thing works flawlessly).
$135 shipped in NA. -- SOLD!
Look at all them contacts!
The tubes emerge from their felt-lined coffin, exposing their one scrape. Wow that looks so much worse than in person.
Feel free to ask questions via PM. I will sell to the first person who commits to buying them.
Thanks!

I had the lens once, but not the TC. The clutch alone wouldn't disengage the screw drive, you have to switch to MF on the body, but I guess since you've probably tried the lens without the TC you would have noticed that already.
So is it that the screwdrive coupling between the lens and the TC is still engaged? Does it feel the same when you try it off the camera? It should spin freely if it's not engaged with the one in the body. But then again, I thought the clutch "should" actually put the lens in MF mode when I had it, not just decouple the focus ring from the AF mechanism :p
