Peculiar remarks by several posters whether Pentax was a supplier of cameras for professional use.
Those posters are not aware the Spotmatic series were used by many professional users in the pre digital era.
This discussion becomes even stranger when AF is mentioned as a standard for professional use.
Several digital bodies and lenses were upgraded with weather resistant sealing making them suitable for use under most weather conditions.

There is no such thing as a professional standard for photo cameras other than reliability.
World wide technical support used to be an important matter for professionals to choose their equipment.
With growing complexity of digital cameras that demand is no longer realistic.
A professional user overcomes this by having a backup available.

May I suggest a different subject to compare the K1 images with the K10d?

There is a clear difference when comparing skin tones between the two.
Not even taking into account I am an admirer of the K10d body I prefer the images made with the K10d.

Forgive me for being rude. What are you doing here when your mobile phone gives you very decent images?

Nearly 200 years ago the first photo was made. Since 1826 photography was improved leading to great cameras and storage media.

Improved image quality gave us digital cameras with high resolution and lenses to match.

A smart phone can also be used to record images. The quality of these images is less than images recorded with a camera.
Even the Pentax K10d, an outdated 10 Mp Pentax camera, beats images made with a smartphone.

Decent even very decent is not good enough for me.
Progress in photography and audio was always generated by people interested in quality.

Now it looks like even at PF this is no longer the case.
A pity not everybody is aware of this.

Right. Just ask this from you.
Use a mobile phone, take a picture.
Do the same with a totally outdated K10d.

Compare the images.
I did the K10d wins time and time again.

I do not even need to compare the images.
What comes from a mobile phone looks nice but fails when you take a closer look.

That is why fools like us drag along a camera instead of a mobile phone.

Pixel counting has little to do with image quality.
Can you make a decent image with a 40 Mp mobile phone?

Hydraulic suspension is a modification that is not necessary. Respect the original design and leave the car in that condition.
My 1920 Pierce Arrow is in the condition it was in when it left the factory over a hundred years ago.
I owe it to that car to keep it that way.

So far I have not found this issue with any of my K10d bodies.
The one I use most of the time has the Katzeye viewing glass.
It has 22.000 clicks and is still going strong.

I understand you 100%.

The K10d is a bout the most underrated 10 Mp camera that I know.
Some years ago I was able to find these gems for a song.
I decided to give the lenses I use often each its own body. I have 4 K10d bodies now.

I had five but decided to send the K10d with only 3900 clicks to a dear friend in Australia.
It was meant as backup for his K10d. He decided to use the one I sent him which is an excellent idea.
These K10d bodies deserve it to be used. That is what they are for.

You like fast lenses that is certain.
Nice images, I like the branch taken with the 50 mm lens most.

It is hard to believe Australia, a complete continent, had no longer acces to internet.
No internet, no cell phones, no landlines either. This lasted several days.
I am informed the total lack of communications happened after an atempt to upgrade the software.

The new software also contained 5G software. Australia does not have 5G.
The result is the whole network with all service providers went down.

Can it happen again? Yes it can.
Can it happen in other countries too? Yes it can.
It depends on the safety messures the network has.

Great lens!
Compliment for Pepperberryfarm.

Nothing against the Minolta lens but the 100 mm f2.8 Pentax FA or the D-FA lens could give the same result.

You must have been real close to that bird. I did not know that was possible.

The Nokton lens is great and extremely fast.

Thank you for sharing these images.

No I do not always have a camera with me.
It suprised me so few pointed out we can always use our cell phones to take a picture if we do not carry a Pentax camera with us. Cell phones were significantly improved to make the use as camera possible.
Still a decent picture needs a camera and not a cell phone to be taken.

Thanks to the forum I was pointed to the K10d Pentax body with the splendid CCD sensor.
I was using a K5 II body at the time. 10Mp are enough for me. The K10d results conviced me to sell the K5 II body.
I know I do not have the advantage of high ISO values and suffer a couple of other drawbacks.
Still I am quite happy with the K10d.

In my country I managed to pick up several K10d bodies for pocket money in those days.
Amongst them a K10d that was fitted with the wonderful and rare Katzeye focusing screen.

I have a camera with me if I need to take a picture.

Attractive girls are an excellent reason to learn French or any other foreign language. :)
A pity it did not work out this time for your knowledge of the French language.

I speak French after having worked many years in France.
Stories from foreigners who were not treated so nicely in France still reach me now and then.
That is a pity both for them and the French.
It is against a well known French saying: "Cést le bon ton qui fait la musique" (It is the good tone that makes the music)

I am afraid that will not do much good. The French invented chauvinism. They will say they won both WW which they did not as we know now.

There is only one problem in France. The French live there.

I would like to point out older Dutch were educated to learn three foreign languages: English, French and German.
Nowadays children are lucky to learn English in school.
