Never had a lens that reacted to superglue. Of course I only use one drop, and allow to dry before mounting on camera.
With luck that good, I should be playing the lottery. ;)

In a pinch.
You can use a Pringles can, a rubber band, and a white paper towel to make a macro flash extender for the onboard. :)

...That's my dream. That's my nightmare. Crawling, slithering, along the edge of a straight razor, and surviving"
Come's from watching that movie too many times. :)

Shortly after this shot, I was minus the plastic hood for the lens.
It wasn't in any shape to be fighting over it. :)
It was about 18 inches in diameter and tougher than me laying on the ground.

The lens is not an adaptall-2 type. It's a adaptall lens from 1976.
Be sure the adapter tabs are in the proper slots on the lens body.

Acetone will remove the glue. You can get it in the finger nail polish area of most discount stores.
You can use a flat black model paint on the tube. Just as it gets tacky, run the brush around the tube to create rough rings to break up any light reflections from the surface.
Flat paint is still surprisingly reflective if not roughed up in some way.
I build telescopes and large camera lenses so have seen it all.

Also check the three ears on the lens mount. It could have been dropped and one of them could be bent a little.
Does the lens turn to where it lines up as it should?
