I'm not sure what happened in the scan/dev/camera, but the flatness of this negative looks pretty old school cool. This is literally straight out of the scanner, scanned with my PrimeFilm 7250 Pro3 and Silverfast 8. The rest of the roll has normal expected contrast for HP5+ @ 400ISO. roll06_10.jpg by Matthew Terry, on Flickr

It is, but the memories I have of her are most fond, and I know we did the best we could for her. She was loved.

I have the HD 21mm Ltd, and I can’t decide which should be the next one for my APS-C kit out of the 40 or the 70. I’ve finally given up on trying to rely on manual focus M lenses on my APS-C body, mostly because getting critical focus is a huge pain without split prism or micro prism focusing screens. Which leaves me with both a short portrait and a long portrait prime as critical gaps in my lens collection (I’ll use my M lenses on my K1000 though). I’ve been growing on defaulting to my M100 1:2.8 on full frame, so I’m feeling like the HD70 might be the better choice first, but the 40 seems like such a versatile focal length for street and snapshots on the smaller sensor...

Ada and Faergus by Matthew Terry, on Flickr
Darling Ada and Goofy Faergus, days before Ada passed from old age. It was a rough time doing quick touch ups to this photo, but I’m glad I did... K1000 w/M50 1:4 Macro on Superia 400.

Shot on my K1000 a few weeks ago at a friend's wedding. Underexposed Superia Xtra 400 by rating it at EI800, and having the lab push it one stop in development. Turned out very cinematic and very old school cool.

Taken during a rainy day at the end of March in Boston. Found this scene exactly as pictured in the back alley entrance to the Church of the Covenant in Back Bay.

You make some good points, but I doubt a new camera body is in my future at the present moment. I have a very limited lens kit that's mostly defined by manual lenses, so I'd rather update those first before I update my body. Whichever lenses I pick up will be used on whatever I upgrade to, and wide apertures will always be helpful, regardless of the ISO levels available (plus, doesn't matter what sensor you have, everything looks better at ISO100/200).
Well, I think I'm leaning toward the HD DA21 Ltd being the first lens I'll pick up, with my final kit looking like SMC DA15 Ltd (for the flares), HD DA21, F28, HD DA40, and HD DA70. I think if I go for zooms in the future to replace the Sigma at any point, I'll probably get both the DFA24-70 and DFA*70-200 lenses.
