Thanks guys.
Yeah, I did ended up with switching to Manual Exposure. This turned out to be a mixed blessing. For a newbie like me, having to switch to full manual is like like a crash course on flash output and exposure time. It's clumbersome but a great experience.
Here's another question I hv.
I tend to turn off the flash when I don't use it thinking that it might save some battery. But the settings I have also disappears and I have to reconfigure the flash again. Is there a way to save my settings so next time i turn it on I don't have to readjust the flash output?
Thanks.

That's another weird thing.
When I installed the flash on the body, it is fixed at PTTL. I can't change the mode. However, when I push th shutter half way, it switched to TTL.
I'm using the Pentax SMC-M 50mm F/2, if that helps.
Thanks.

I have just brought the AF-540FGZ flash for my K100D. I am on a cruise and was thinking the flash would work great when I take pictures of inside the ship, which is pretty dark to help create the mood.
However, when I use the flash, I always ended up over exposing my shots, they all came out white! This so even I have a diffuser and was pointing the flash up toward the ceiling!
I read the manual for the flash and no where did it say how I can decrease the light intensity. I've tried various settings on the flash and the results are still the same.
Can someone help me?
Thanks,
Sime

Hey vizjerei. Nice to meet you too. Yeah I'm in Toronto. I see you've added me on Flickr. Your pics are cool, especially the "Playing with lights" sets. I still need to get a hang of understanding the light. :p

I missed this event. I remember driving by the park every year and seeing tonnes of kites flying over. It was wonderful. Too bad it's not happening again...

It's interesting and I certainly look forward to these new features.
That being said, I hope the future of digital photography software would focus on giving photographers more creative freedom and ideas with new effects and mulipative tools. Tools that help "fix" pictures are simply going to make people lazy. Being a newbie, the less time I spent on photoshop "fixing" pictures, the happier I am with myself. But I wouldn't mind spending time to play with my pictures creatively by giving it various effects.

I had recently purchased the AF-540 FGZ because in my opinion that's pretty much the only option. The AF-360 FGZ does not allow you the swivels the head which is a major turn off since l find that extremely useful. The sales person also showed me a sigma flash and although it cost a lot less then the AF-540, it just feel to "toy-ish" and "plastic-y".

Hi,
I'm sorry but where did you buy the Travor grip for £25? I searched on ebay and it was like £50!

Some one on craigslist is offering to trade in their SMC-M 50 F2 prime lens for a SMC-DA 18-55 kit lens. Since I already have a Sigma 18-200, I can part with my kit.
Does anyone here have this lens?
If so, what are your thoughts?

I think I need to get a better understanding of what megapixel really meas.

Well the reason I got that idea was actually from looking at my camera's menu. I noticed that the menu where I change megapixel is blocked if I choose RAW and back on when I choose JPEG. So I thought maybe megapixel doesn't matter with RAW....

Nice! Sorry for misunderstanding your respond before.
Another question then: I always shoot RAW and I'm using the K100D (non Super). Does that mean I really have no need to upgrade to a K200D?

A simpler version of my question would be: If I shoot in RAW mode, does that mean I can blow up the picture however big I want it regardless of MP?
So I guess your answer would be no, and that even if I shoot RAW, it will still have the MP limitation when printing.
