Low Emissions Zone: may the gods have mercy on you should your pride and joy emit so much as a hint of fumes, for the automatic cameras have your number and they slumber not nor sleep. :(

Whatever you do, don't bring your old car to Glasgow, Edinburgh or anywhere else in Scotland with an LEZ: you don't pay a charge to drive in the LEZ, you get fined for driving yore banger in the LEZ. Grrrrr. And for reasons that escape me entirely, we can drive our nearly 17-year old crusty petrol-driven banger, the one the children are learning to drive in, in a Scottish LEZ.
(and MG or BYD? Cue socially-unacceptable thoughts and music from yesteryear... )

Hello, fancy meeting you here! I can only speak for meself, but spring is finally sprung in the northern hemisphere so we're outside, mostly, catchin' up with all the stuff we didn't do all winter. :o I expect the antipodean crowd are hunkerin' down, battenin' all the hatches, gettin' ready for winter, wonderin' what they can leave be until next spring... ;)

The best example of an image I made myself with “3D pop” was …… focus stacked. I wanted both the foreground rock and the rocks on the far side of the river in sharp focus, so that was the only way to achieve it, but the necessary long exposures for each layer in the stack left the moving water blurred and streaked with foam. The 3D appearance was a wonderful surprise. I’m not dismissing the OP’s article, just sharing my surprise. :)

Then you’ve answered your own question: the A35-105/3.5 (the “stack of primes”) is a fine lens and worth putting up with its substantial weight. I like mine too, it’s my most used lens.

It seems a field monitor will adapt the HDMI signal from the camera to display on its own resolution: many have 1920x1080, some less. Regardless of whether you’re feeding an 8K signal or whatever the K-1 does, it will adapt that to the field monitor’s native resolution, but I don’t think the K-1 will tax a current model field monitor. Let us know how you get on.

You describe the Item Condition as “New” but it’s about 40 years old. That’s not new, that’s “mint”.

And yet Ricoh have stated that “The camera business remained strong and sales increased,” in the last financial report. I wonder how they managed that with selling DSLRs? Could it be that some of us haven’t a clue about Ricoh/Pentax’s actual business beyond sheer conjecture?
I should put these threads on the Ignore list as a matter of policy, they create little heat and no light whatever. :(

If the Z6 is shooting photos at full 24MP resolution and the K-70 is shooting at much less than full resolution, you'll see a difference like your pictures. Check to see the K-70 is set to maximum resolution and quality – JPEG Recorded Pixels should be set to L and JPEG Quality set to 3 star.

Believe me, Dave, you're not the only one. Biz, this isn't the MBA course at Harvard, it's the Pentax Forum. Please remember not all of us speak commercial/marketing drivel, but it has reminded me of a game played at business seminars and during keynote speeches: some sort of bingo, as I recall.

Probably something connected with historical reasons, and the unwillingness of the EU to grant protection to bottled window washings. Not being Yooropeean any more, I’m unmoved by their plight. :p

I think you might find it under the Czechvar label, Racer. Not to be confused with the other slightly-flavoured dilute solution of alcohol.

That’s a good example of when the light and atmosphere play nicely to give noticeable separation, @GUB. :). It’s what I try to look for too.

I have the A 28mm f/2.8 and it focuses fine through the viewfinder using the green hexagon and zoomed in close when using live view. No complaints from me. :)

Somehow I don’t think any Ricoh marketing executive is remotely aware of your ceaseless quest to know their innermost thoughts. Disappointing, but there it is; you’ll just have to wait.

You’re confusing the ability to shoot a sharply focused picture of something with making an image that’s of more than passing interest. Someone famously said there was nothing worse than a sharply focused image of a fuzzy concept, and that’s what a toddler can make with an iPad or a kid with a smartphone. Making compelling images of interesting subjects is what motivates some of us, presumably you’re happy with good-quality images of family and events and that’s okay.
I can make decent images with a phone too, but there are limitations the phone doesn’t begin to address, so if you’d like to send your unwanted gear this way I’ll put it to use making images my phone struggles with. Family snapshots and vacation records will continue to be made with whichever device is to hand at the time. ;)

Ah, but Boeing are claiming the aircraft was out of warranty, being 7 years old. So there. Nothing to do with us, guv.
… couldn’t be the airline company’s maintenance department forgetting a nut and bolt, perchance?

I have two film-era zooms, the Pentax-A 35-105 f/3.5 and the 70-210 f/4, neither of which cost more than £50. I also have a Sigma 10-20 f/3.5 and a Pentax-A 28 f/2.8 but would really like a DA 20-40 Limited. That suits me fine, the image quality looks great to my eye, the prints don’t disappoint. I would like them all to be autofocus and appreciably lighter but none of that stops me going out looking for good subjects.
I used to daydream about getting the latest all-singing & dancing gear and glass, but it wouldn’t make me a better photographer, so I got over it. :)
(none of the stuff I enjoy can be done well on my phone either… :p)

At the size shown I don't see the fringing, sorry. I have a selection of budget-priced lenses, all secondhand, and a K-7, so pardon me for looking enviously at your K-5ii s. I suggest just using your gear. I've had my K-7 for years and still haven't got better than the camera can handle, but I do enjoy when the fates align and a real peach of an image appears from the memory card. When they print nicely at up to A3 they're even more rewarding. :D
The one big lesson I learned some years ago was not to fixate over the images while zoomed in to 100% magnification, or larger: we call that pixel peeping and it's a source of grief and anxiety. :(
