So my passthrough adapter arrived, seems to work like I expected, I am able to pass through the fire through the middle pin only and my trigger files normally with a manual lens attached.
It should be noted, with this adapter attached, you lose the ability to use HSS and TTL with all lenses, but you gain the ability to use manual lenses where you previously could not with the Flashpoint/Godox XPro-P trigger. You're limited to 1/200th of a second... seems like a decent compromise in my book to have control over the Godox lineup, so it behaves same as any non-brand specific trigger like a pocket-wizard. Just swap it on/off when using manual lenses... a lot easier to deal with than tape.

Latest gear:
Switched over from Cactus to the Godox system, got tired of switching firmware for TTL and HSS and the triggers occasionally stopping firing, extra batteries required and the extra gear to carry around and fiddle with. Godox just seems much more integrated.
Flashpoint XPro-P
Flashpoint AD200
Godox TT600 (x2)
Along with a couple extra Amazon basics stands and a Softbox (included with the AD200)

Phottix, Godox/Flashpoint and now Elinchrom.
All jumping in the game pretty late, I wonder if these 3rd party manufacturers know something we don't about upcoming Pentax products...

Christine, my first realish shoot, It was pretty significant for me as it would be the first real time I put my study to practice.
This particular shot wasn't even planned, she was just having a blast at the conservatory we were at that morning. There are more model-y pictures from the set in my Flickr, but I like the emotion in this one a lot as it reflects her personality well. Garden by Kris Kass, on Flickr

Just an update, got my third cactus unit today... HSS success!
Can confirm these Cactus V6II's will allow for high speed sync between different brands, here's what I did.
1. Flashed the HSS firmware on all 3.
2. Attached one V6II to the Yongnuo 600EXRT II, set the flash profile to Canon and set the flash to E-TTL. RX mode.
3. Attached one V6II to the Pentax AF360FGZ II, set the flash profile to Pentax and set the flash to P-TTL. RX mode.
4. Attached the last unit to my K-1, set the camera profile to Pentax. TX mode.
I am able to achieve high-speed sync, change the power on each flash remotely on the shoe-mounted V6, and control each unit individually (if you put them in separate groups).
Overall, really happy! TTL mode won't work when mixing as far I can tell, I'd need to flash that firmware on the V6II's to do that as well.
Just thought i'd update you guys, incase anyone was wondering about this. Adorama has several used V6II units available for $69 if you wanna snag one.
You could also pick up a Cactus Flash and probably get TTL working as well without another V6II. However, I had an extra 600exrt II so i went this direction.

Two things I'm interested in:
1. How much will the AF and low light performance improve?
2. Will they upgrade K-1 Silver Editions? Being one of only a handful of people with a K-1 Mk. II Silver Edition sounds kind of cool.

Hey guys,
I just moved from Canon APS-C and spent a bunch of money on my K-1 and two FA lenses, but I love astrophotography! So my question is, are there any good, wide, fast vintage lenses that won't break my wallet that can be used for landscape astro out there? or should i just hold off for something like this(or maybe even a fisheye, but i like the ability to put a Hoya Red intensifier filter on).
This was actually my first successful attempt taken with a Canon T6i w/ a Rokinon 16mm f/2.. I happened to be shooting at an overnight concert along the Appalachian mountains, we got absolutely poured on during the day.. the whole field was flooded but the conditions that night just happened to be perfect until the clouds rolled back in. Hi everyone!
I've been learning photography for the last year, no formal training, just a lot of googling, youtube and a few books. I starting getting a few gigs and became one of the main event photographers for a music festival my good friends have put together here in Kentucky (link to our FB page for those who might be interested), which is pretty exciting for me. After doing a few concerts I was starting to really feel the limitations of a lower end crop sensor camera, particularly in low light situations where I cannot use a flash.
Why I chose Pentax vs... Canon
I decided to jump ship from Canon as I wasn't too invested in the system, in regards to lenses that would transfer over to full-frame.. just a 50mm f/1.8 really and a Yongnuo flash. I liked the 5D Mark IV but I wasn't that impressed by the specs for $2700... and the mark III is just too old of a camera, though a workhorse. Of course you have to consider Canon's available lens selection, but in reality, I can only see myself using a select few.. 24-70, a 70-200 and maybe a couple primes. All the brands offer those. Nikon
Looked at Nikon and REALLY considered the D750 and D810 (which can be had for almost the same price as the d750 now), specs were impressive on both, especially the D810 as I love doing Astrophotography and landscape but I wasn't a big fan of the look of the camera. The d750's low light performance and versatility caught my eye, but I also love using vintage lenses and apparently many lenses don't adapt well to Nikon, and that turned me off a bit. Sony
The A7RIII is a bit out of my price range, but I love everything about it. Everything adapts to it, huge resolution, EVF and its built well. Sadly the A7RII only has 1 SD card slot and the battery life sucks. The G-Master lenses are also quite expensive. Fuji
Ohhh its such a shame the X-T2 isn't full frame, I loved everything about it, especially it's built quality... those knobs! Considering this or the X-T20 as a light travel camera down the line, but for the kind of work I like to do, I felt I could do better on resolution and low light stuff.
and finally... Pentax!
What can I say, its built like a tank, looks good (though not as nice as a Fuji) and knobs! no AA filter... great resolution. It adapts vintage lenses so well, and even stabilizes them like the Sony. The Astrotracer feature blew me away, didn't even know that was possible... I had been looking at star tracking mounts for some time. The one drawback for me, is the lack of Sigma and Tamron lenses... I was looking to buy the Tamron 24-70 and 70-200 G2's, which compared very closely to Canon's legendary 24-70 + IS, maybe one day!
What pushed me over the top was the fact B&H let one slip under the radar... a "used" K-1 Silver edition showed up for $1700 a couple weeks ago, apparently 1 of only 2000. About the same price as the black ones used + a battery grip and extra battery. It was a no-brainer. When I got it, it was brand new.. everything still in plastic in the box and the shutter count was only 60. Woohoo! I think B&H's crap search function on their site let me get this steal, their search yielded nothing, I had to Google the name of the camera and B&H in order to find a link to it on their site.
I'm really happy to be here! and I'm loving the camera so far :) Thanks for reading!
