Very good first try at long exposure. lf it were my image, l'd tone down the highights(only possible if you shot it in RAW), increase contrast a bit, and saturate the colors a little.

I, too, am surprised you can get that close. Good shot!

Great close shot of the landing. Lucky that you can get so close, and you certainly took advantage of that. Must have been a bit noisy. Well built image, with plane, landing lights, street lights, and road all emphasizing the big bird coming down for its landing. Nice image. Thanks.

When I was young I lived on the final approach to a big airport. There was a painter working on our house who wore glasses like coke bottle bottoms.
After one flew over he looked at my dad and said "When I can see the pilot smiling, it's too damn low"

On the plane silly! :D
I think you might see something zoomed in but this was a very obscure reference on my part. When I was a kid one place I lived in Navy housing was the naval shipyard in south Philadelphia and had 747's flying right over my roof every 3 minutes on final approach. We used to say "you could see Goodyear on that one!" standing in the yard after having them roar right over. You could also see them one behind another lined up for approach. The exhaust and pollution, as well as burning gas towers from oil refineries right across the Delaware river in New jersey made some of the best sunsets. (cough)

Well done on both photographs. I believe the jet airliner is a Boeing 737 a very good performer and very reliable. The turbo-prop is still growing in popularity regardless of the increases in purchasing price. They are also very reliable and most fuel efficient. Again, great photographs. Thanks for uploading.

Thanks for hosting Vaskebjorn, and what a feast for the eyes in this weeks POTW. We are rocking, even if I am somewhat envious at all these lovely summer pics and festivals. Welcome Shinigami, to PF and POTW In particular. Hope we see a lot more of you here! Its been rather cold, and even wet over the last week, with bits of sunshine in between. Here's a contribution from me.
A pair of Spotted Eagle Owls reside in a local park- Delta Park- which I can go and photograph just about anytime I want, its about 10 km from where I live. They have been harassed by some crows, so have taken to hiding in some of the trees. I found them, but so well camouflaged, I had to scrape the bark of the tree with my tripod to get a reaction out of one. Hand held with the K-30 and Sigma 170-500mm lens. Makes for tired arms and stiff neck- the price of photography :) Peekaboo by Noel Bowers, on Flickr

Some pictures from me. The first one is Boeing 787 of LOT Polish Airlines wet landing, the second one is Boeing 777 of Emirates Airlines taxing to the runway, third one makes me angry because I think the photographer is far too offensive taking pictures of romanian gipsy child performing on the street to collect some money and finally the fourth one shows young lady and her "street office"
