Thanks for the link. I did look through that earlier. There seems to be general agreement that this is a good quality TC.

I had a 2.0 converter for my manual K-mount camera which didn't cooperate with my digital cameras.
So am shopping now. I'm inclined to stick with Pentax/Ricoh based on some of the comments I've
read in other threads concerning compatibility. ---------- Post added 03-03-18 at 11:19 AM ----------
Thanks, Adam. That's the only one I've found, too.

I edited my original post, I had the wrong camera model. Sorry!! It's a Pentax KP DSLR.

I'm looking for a teleconverter that will be compatible with my lens (and Pentax KP camera).
I've seen there is a 1.4x available, is that the only choice out there that's good quality?
(Corrected post, I had mistakenly typed K2 not KP.)

If I calibrate the 70-200 will the camera need to be adjusted again when I got back to my other lens? ---------- Post added 02-03-18 at 03:55 PM ----------
Before purchasing this lens, my husband checked with the company to make sure it would be compatible with the specific camera model. I wish they had been more specific about the capabilities if there were going to be issues. Compatible means more than fitting the mount, to me. I guess my next move may be to contact them.

Thanks, Adam. I didn't realize you could buy that tool but talked to a gentleman yesterday that described that kind of test. I have done some reading on the debug needed to make adjustments and sure hope to avoid having to do that.
I'll look into the step-down you mentioned; we wanted the 2.8 to allow more light but I'll see if I can narrow down where the issue is.

Recently attached the DFA* 2.8 zoom lens to my K10D and am having trouble with focus on the longer distances.
When set to 1.-4m I have better success with the object I'm focusing on being in focus. When focusing at
greater distances I'm getting disappointing results and haven't nailed down definitively where the focus is
but it doesn't seem to be in the center. I wondered if it was a back focus issue but have to do some controlled
tests to be sure. I feel like I am doing something wrong, not the lens/camera.
Does anyone have suggestions as to which camera settings I should be using if the lens is 4m - infinity, or Full,
and QFS/A or QFS/M? I tend to use SEL on the camera, center setting, but have tried a few different
combinations. I did install 1.31 firmware in order for the autofocus to function at all.
