Well I tried my very best not to miss a day but it’s 11pm here and all the shots I have today well just plain suck. There is less grain in bowl of grape nuts. They are bad. In my defence most of them were of my best friend’s new cat and he was very camera shy and thus he was far away and my cell phone just wasn’t up for the task. I’ll be back tomorrow.
Zippy, I hope you got your surgery and all went well.
Earlier in the month I begged for votes in a local photo contest. - I got third which initially would have netted me a thanks for entering but they decided to give the first three winners a prize. So my foxes will be printed and float-mounted. I’ve no idea what that exactly means but the person doing it seemed excited to be putting it together for me. So thanks to anyone who voted for me.

a couple of days in and, yeah, I want one....
roughly the same size and a smidge lighter than a K-1, a MF sensor with all the juicy things that Fuji does to color science.... I'm completely smitten....

This is completely out of character for me but I have a favour to ask. My local art supply store is having a photo contest and I entered one of my fox photos from last summer. Congrats are in order to this group. I notice there is little to no attrition this month. Monthly submissions are pretty much the same yesterday as they were on January 1st. Kudos for sticking to it!

... And soon after I said that a link to a lot of old Pentax brochures was posted on forum. Prices on prime lenses according to October 1st 1982 Pentax dealer pricing manual. The one on the left is suggested list price:

So M120 and M150 was priced at about double to M135. M*300 cost almost four times M200. This makes a lot of sence and fits into my experience with M series primes.
A little bit surpricing is the small price gap between 50mm f2 and f1.7. Difference in performance is much bigger. M40 has been excellent bargain being second cheapist lens on the list, but it also kind of explains why it's not among the sharpest lenses in series.

it feels like you are alone in your depression, but you truly are not - there is support for you here and elsewhere in your life....
the hardest part is just seeing it and then allowing yourself to be open to the support...
it's not ridiculous how your mind plays games, it's insidious and dangerous - some days it feels like it is really out to get you, to trip you up, to remind you that you aren't worth it....
it lies - you are worth it, everything about you is worth it ...
take the photo - even if it is your morning cup of coffee, shoot it, process it, and post it...

I will slap them across the face and shout, "Color? Color!, You uncultured beast, color is for the masses, I'm an artiste! " Then I'll set my beret more firmly on my head, slap my riding crop down the side of my jodhpurs, and stride purposefully away.
I will likely muddle through, the impetus provided by the SIC and DIC is one of the only reasons I did any photography this year. I am going to try to make a book or some other printed work, and try more portraits.
