You have to laugh.... the ergonomic easy to hold onto grip is now "clunky" and the slippery square box of the mirrorless cameras, I guess is the norm. I guess to those who are pushing mirrorless, ergonomic is no longer a thing.

Shadows sometimes really catch a person's eye when they are as profound as these.
Interesting abstract of nature!

Interesting shot. It is nature presented in an abstract way. One of the distinct parts of the foliage looks like a hook or a birds beak and the blurred green foliage creates sort of aura.

I agree with Angky. This is the kind of shot that I look for, and you executed it very well.

This is the kind of image I really like.
Just my personal preference, but I often try to catch a shot like this.
In my perspective, this one works well--rampant bokeh front and back but with the object very clearly delineated.

The cold temperature outside has created some beautiful art on the window.
Nature is an amazing artist.

My trial on the Startracer option on the K1.
Tripod and camera set up and calibrated and activated the Startracer option.
Found where Andromeda was and did some 60 second shots. The outcome was for me very good, as I usually live in a lightpoluted area and the dark sky here was awesome !
Staked 3 of my best ones and here is the result:

One of the most under-rated Pentax lenses. Probably because they produced and sold so many they are cheap as chips. A great addition to anyone's camera bag.

The KX & MX are both fine cameras, but to be honest the K2 is by far my favorite. The Super A and MZ-S get used almost as much as the K2, but the MX usually only gets used when I need a smaller camera. Too many cameras, not enough time........

Long time no see. It has been a very interesting winter - an adventure with a stray cat led to huge lymph nodes which looked like a relapse of the CLL, but which, I was certain, were bartonellosis ("cat scratch fever"). They have become much less tender and quite a bit smaller after the appropriate antibiotics, so I may yet chisel away at a few more of the films in my freezer. Let's celebrate with some still life/still alive flowers (500cm, Distagon 4/50, XP2 Super @ISO100, HC-110, X1 scans, cropped for printing): Coleus by chrism229, on Flickr Strelitzia by chrism229, on Flickr

One thing that doesn't seem to have been talked about, just hinted, is that many people would like to have high quality lenses, but are not prepared/interested to pay for f speed, or have the bulk associated with it.
With all the advances made in sensors, and the accelerator unit Pentax is including in recent bodies, one direction they could follow is that of slow, but high Q, lenses, like the current Limiteds. But it looks like all the new ones are fast?
That would associate Pentax with quality glass for all their segments, not just FF and MF (good publicity). And partly silence the complaints about a small lens lineup [bad publicity]...
The new 11-18, even though not a Limited, is (should be) a (very?) high Q lens, but a fast lens, in a segment (APS) that is usually associated with lower prices. Even though it is a good sign for the Pentax APS line, I think they made it "too pro", f speed-wise, which increases the price and limits the sales/visibility.
I wonder what is their intention when releasing a pro(?) lens in an "amateur" segment...
