Wow, just wow. Not trashing the Z at all. Wouldn't dream of it. One of the actual downsides of the Fuji is that a certain amount is baked onto the raw file, hence I was giving my early images an over processed look. The Z is a fantastic camera. Always was, and still is. I took well over 150,000 shots with it. Me saying I didn't do as much processing as with the z was NOT a criticism of the Z. It's just different in some ways. In fact it was a criticism of myself for partly blindly following the formula I used before.

I also consider the people here my friends, creating interesting work (with interesting backstories, including about the gear) and i don't feel any need to limit the contributions in this way. I always enjoy and learn a lot from what others post.

Hmmm ... last time I read the title of this thread it was "post your medium format photos". Personally I enjoy looking at good photographs, no matter what format or which brand was used.

Thanks, but they are there, blank white spots (Not that unusual for this film, it's...affordable).
You have to dig in a bit tho, and I did fix some in post. Yes I do post on film :).
Could be the scanner too, but I have limited choices these days for scanning MF and not going to invest in more digital gear just for that.
It's good enough for the web. Which, of course, is not great haha.

Thank you for responding with that information! I will reach out to them. Also, the second body is a good idea. I’m seeing a few listed for under $2k out there now - as you note, a lot of Fuji MF mirrorless converts, perhaps a few to Hasselblad MF mirrorless also.
I prefer my TTL as an optical view as opposed to EVF, personally. Call me old fashioned, but I love my mirrors and prisms! I stare at a computer screen/phone screen/tablet screen long enough all day as it is. I don’t need another screen!
Thanks again for your help!

As is probably evident I am keeping myself busy in the Namibia folder, discovering new perspectives on old edits and binned images alike.
These pictures are from Death Valley in Sossus Vlei. These old charcoaled trees must have been standing here for hundreds of years. Nothing rots there, it only withers away. Makes you stop and wonder about time if you stop to absorb the landscape, that is in-between the tourists and selfie junkies.
We were fortunate to stay at a Government owned lodge within the restricted area, which gave us an hour head-start before the entrance gates opened to the public. That is the only way to get to Death Valley before sunrise, since there is a dusk to dawn curfew on driving. This area has some large antelopes and at night they can't see the car, only the head lights and when they cross the road they come running and try to jump over the head lights, but end up hitting the vehicle. The consequences are usually bad and sad for the occupants of the vehicle. Hence the curfew. EDIT: Added a third picture of a famous dune close to Death Valley.

Agree. My 645 A 120 macro is also doing well. The long focus helicoid is butter smooth and sharpness is great.
Thanks,

Nobody seems to understand the value of soft portrait lenses these days. It's like 50 years of photographic knowledge washed down the tube by 10 years of exuberant pixel peepers.

I am glad some people can afford to tour around Spain to take photos.
I am also glad some people can afford to goof around with the DA 645 28-45.
What I cannot understand is why some people buy expensive photographic equipment just to goof around and take pictures of flowers!
I also cannot understand, with human ingenuity being sufficient to develop a camera as magnificent as the 645Z, why someone cannot invent a reasonable deterrent to deer eating my hostas (see first photo).

I'm glad that some people can spend $10K on photographic gear just to "goof around" with it :D:D

Indeed, same here. I say that my Z files have a certain "suave" quality, and the FF ones seem more brittle. Certainly in post the Z files give me more room for maneuver.

Hey, Babywriter
I live in the Des Moines area and you might want to try a company called Beeline and Blue if you're somewhere in central Iowa. I believe they do scanning and they print my work that I need larger than 20" and do a fantastic job. That would be one source for you to try.
I have the 645D. I bought the body new several years ago and used the lenses I had from the film 645 and it works great. I think there is something to that "medium format look" but I sure can't qualify exactly what that is. The person who mentioned the lack of a future roadmap for Rich medium format probably has a point, but that doesn't mean a "D" or a "Z" won't give you many, many years of use.
