Ok so this is driving me nuts but am I missing something? My wildlife photos from my k1mk2 when using the 560mm don't seem as sharp as they should be (perfect lock on in auto, dead on in manual). While I'm no Morten Hilmer (watch him on youtube) it seems as though I should be getting at least as clear results as him. Maybe I am being dumb and missing something however the photos from my 560 especially- seem so gritty. Photos from my other lenses (55-300, manual 50mm, 18-55 etc ) still seem gritty but not nearly as bad.

Decently cheap here as well $20-40 US seems to be the average. Biggest problems at least here in my area (FL) is the lack of camera shops so unless buying current lenses its all trusting online descriptions.
Thanks for the help, gonna go see what I can find since I've got a keys trip coming up next week.

The movement does seem to have gotten slack, I can hold the lens vertically (front element top) and it will slightly extend under its own weight. Nothing loose or falling apart however, no weird noises or rattles, still feels solid as a rock except for this focus problem. Can it be fixed? Or should i just keep it for macro and find another one of these wonderful adaptalls?
Thanks!

Hey all, crazy last couple of weeks at work so I haven't been able to get on much, let alone go out for photos. I've missed a ton of great photos!
My 17a (its quickly become my favorite lens) has developed an issue, when I don't have it focused to one extreme or the other it now has a tendency to knock out of focus when the shutter snaps. As if the focus has just lost all resistance. Any way this can be fixed? We have a great camera shop here in Orlando so if it can be done I'll do it.
Thanks!

Hey all, picked up a Tamron Adaptall 35-70 (17a) with original k mount adapter for pretty much a song. The lens is in great condition and I am excited to finally have a macro but theres a problem. Lens hooks up fine however when hooked shutter speed is not available and the shutter will not fire. I have used other film era manual lenses without any issue, have I missed something and gotten one of the few lenses that wont work with my k-70? Or is there another adapter needed or something else that Im missing lens wise or hiding in the menus? I'm dying to use this lens so I hope all is not lost.
Thanks ahead of time

lol, obviously. Couldn't be happier with my k-70 it's already shown it's only limitation is me. Not to mention the rouge wave and sudden downpour that have proven how rugged it is. Love this camera!

Still trying to figure out why people (cough J. Polin. cough) say Pentax cameras can't do action/sports. Took this spot focus, single shot, no tracking. With my "slow" 55-300. True, little bit of blur around the the passenger headlight (pretty sure camera locked onto rear wing, my fault for being on spot focus) but still happy.

Thanks to all! Grew up in a racing family so it's honestly what I automatically was drawn to. Beginning to work on portraits and the like, getting passed that whole "hey can I take your picture?" thing. On instagram @timrichert_images. I look forward to being part of the site and can't wait to learn and share!

Hi everyone! Long story short: I'm 33 and have lived in Florida USA my whole life. I have always been interested in photographs and when my grandparents gave me a Kodak easyshare (want to say early '00s) I became interested in taking photos. That interest became a passion after I bought my Fuji HS30EXR in late 2012/2013 (great serious starter camera btw). And have since taken NYIP courses and have been taking a future as a photographer seriously.
A few months back I bought my Pentax K70. A decision made thanks to a heavy stalking of this site, web searching and the fact that I prefer being the oddball.
I currently have the 18-55 kit lens as well as the 55-300 and I cannot say enough good about the camera. I have put it through rain, sporting events, wildlife, the beach, you name it, and it loves it all.
Thanks for having me...
Here is 2 to break the ice :D
