SOLVED!
apertue ring was moving correctly, but the blades didn't.
i don't know what is the reason, but the lens started to work by itself. i was turning the dodgy aperture ring back and forth from the A position as well as experimented with menu. nothing worked, but then something happened after i returned to correct settings 3rd or 4th time. the lens was in bag for several years and probably was just angry at me for abandoning it for so long :) 4 hours ago i even vent out to catch some frames with it, everything worked!
colleagus! sincere thanks for your input :) ---------- Post added 02-18-24 at 19:02 ----------
yes, i got a few copies, they are a bit sharper than 44 and 44-2, but for me the bokeh of earlier versions is irreplacable, it's still there in later versions, just not so excellent. i modified one of the 44m by reversing front and rear elements to get that extra crazy swirl example 1 and example 2 |

!thank you. this takumar is on my to buy list already :) otherwise i mostly use soviet lenses gathered since late 80s, jupiter, helios, tair, industar, mir etc. my to go glass is helios 44-2 which is almost always mounted on KP or at least is present in the bag. at the moment i'm modifying early helios-44 for m42 as it has some weird unknown soviet bayonet mount, but the glass, coatings and blades are excellent. i think it even got the original german glass, the serial number starts with two zeros.

that ring was always dodgy since i shot first photos with this glass somewhen in early 90s. i'm already too long planning to buy a few more pentax/takumar lenses, too bad many of them have only 6 blades. always using manual exposure and focusing, even with new af lenses, old habits are stiffer than any aperture ring ;)

for me the image quality means everything, i'm used to manual focus even for telelenses since childhood, this is not a problem at all. now thinking about getting the SMC Pentax-M* 300mm F4 but first i want to get pentacon6 adapter for k-mount and to try the jupiter-36b i have lying around unused. it is 850mm on apsc sensor. but how good the sharpness is depends on the particular item as with all soviet lenses. i almost always go mf with af lenses, single exception is the only zoom i use on regular basis - SMC Pentax-DA 12-24mm F4 ED AL [IF] which is impossible to do so reliably, perhaps it is production defect, also it's focus ring markings don't correspond to the real distance. however af is excellent when it's not too dark. got it used for 230euros, but wouldn't be too happy with the original price, as corners are not sharp until stopping down considerably and the af is quite loud.

very well done! i don't do any stacking myself, but it's always enjoyable to see what others can achieve this way.

shot in partially frozen swamp near almost nonfunctioning suburban cargo railway. probably my own favorite image made with this modified helios-44m.

it was last evening of the stormy week and i decided to make some unconventional photos out of my window. double exposition (thank you pentax for this feature!) of 1/3s each + intentional camera movement. minimal postprocessing. see larger here |

static camera here and you can guess the wind force from this (~7-8 floors high) tree movements during exposition. this wasn't a hurricane or violent storm, but for my geographical region this counts as strong one. see larger here |

ok! my misunderstanding probably comes from neverending interest in religious history and metaphysics. second sentence is absolutely true, it's hard to find cultures where there is no connection between these two terms. !thanks for stopping by and commenting :)
