My Pentax SV needs some TLC.
The shutter curtains seem very wrinkly. The negatives are very uneven along the edges. Will send it to Eric to see if it can be brought to good working order.

Smoothness is very subjective, but I generally agree that it's not as smooth as other Pentax bodies, such as the SV (the smoothest I've used), and the LX.

I don't know why it took me so long to get a KX. I was worried the microprism screen would be as dim as the one on my SV, but it's really an excellent screen.
Sent it to Eric for a CLA as the light meter was way off, and it was back within a week.

Beautiful camera.
I used Fleenor last year; well, his son actually. I was disappointed that I had to send it back twice, but once he got everything sorted out, it was night and day difference compared to before the overhaul.

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
Gossen Pilot 2 Light Meter (And Free Gossen Pilot 1 light meter) Asking Price
10.00 USD Item Location
California (United States) Item Description
I'm on a streak of trying to streamline my gear selection.
As I'm sure some of you may relate, I just have way too many light meters.
I bought this Gossen Pilot 2 from KEH a year or so ago.
Cosmetically it's in excellent condition, and its readings seem to agree with sunny 16.
I'm selling as I just never use it.
I'm also including a Free Gossen Pilot 1 light meter. Its readings are a bit off, but still within ~ 1 stop of Sunny 16.
Asking for $10 + shipping. I'm hoping it goes to someone who contributes regularly to the film SLR sub-forum. Are you the original owner of the item being sold?

Another vote for scanning with Silverfast. It’s now offered free for current epson v600 owners. For color negative film, the negafix feature does a good job at giving you good looking film profile colors.
I also find that I get better sharpness results when I use the unsharp mask in silverfast, as opposed to no sharpness when scanning and doing it in Lightroom.
If the negative strip is too curly, insert it emulsion side down.

Shelter in place here in California has given me the chance to go back and scan some older photos. I'd originally sent the photos from a trip to Africa last year to a lab for processing and scanning. I got a PrimeFilm XAs recently, so I thought I'd scan some of those myself.
This one on a LX, K 35mm f/3.5, Portra 400. The negative was pretty badly scratched in some parts. Overall pleased with the dust and scratch removal function, although it's not quite perfect of course. Okavango Delta, Botswana by EI, on Flickr

Hi all,
I've been shooting primarily on a tripod, on medium format, recently. I'd like to start doing that for 35mm more often as well.
My Pentax lenses line-up is a little bit biased towards the normal range, so I have lenses in the 35mm - 55mm range, with the K 35mm f/3.5 being my favorite.
I'm looking to possibly add a 28mm, and a short-medium telephoto to my line up. These are to be shot on an LX.
I'm limiting my search to K series lenses. Questions:
1. Are there any real advantages in the K 28mm f/2 over the K 28mm f/3.5, other than maximum apertures? I'd be shooting at f/8-f/16 most of the time.
2. Does anyone have a comment on how the K 105mm f/2.8 compares against the K 85mm f/1.8?
Any input is much appreciated.
Cheers,
Ed

Does anyone here happen to own this scanner, or the European version Reflecta MF 5000, or the seemingly identical offering by Braun?
I'm looking to buy it, but online reviews are sort of mixed. In particular, I'm wondering how reliable this unit would be after owning it for longer than the 1-year warranty period.
Many thanks,
Ed
