Yes, found one of these on TM DSLR Lens Spanner Wrench Opening Tool Stainless Steel For Camera Repair | Trade Me

I was given a couple of M 50mm 1.7 with a bit of fungus so I'll do these first see how I go.

I don't think there is a displacement element, probably just the way the light shine through if you refer to the darker part of the lens.

As I said, the 'speckles' are not as bad as it looks on the photo and I'm hoping a clean would make it new again. I am a bit annoyed with the comment from the seller but he might not have known what to look for and if it just need a clean, I would have had a great bargain. It was a gamble as I couldn't go and see them first.
The 50mm is in great condition.

I have several other lenses to clean fungus from so I might try do it myself, starting with the cheap ones :)

Thanks. I hope it's that or fungus.

So the excitement of receiving the FA 20mm dropped a bit when I looked inside the lens.

It's not nearly as bad as it looks like on the photo but wish it wasn't there.

Would someone know what it is and if it's easily cleanable? I've searched a bit and can't find anything quite like that.

It seems too regular and evenly spread to be dust or fungus. It doesn't look like basalm separation from what I found on the net.

It seems to be on the second element from the back.

The few photos I've taken so far don't seem to be affected.

Thanks

Will do when I get the chance. Kids get in the way of my photography at the moment which is a shame considering all the nice lenses I've accumulated in the last 10 months.

Yay I got them.

I was expecting a bit more competition considering how much the 20mm and 50mm seem to go for elsewhere.

Now that's a nice trick. Does that work with any other lenses? All the manual ones?
I don't mind using the green button but yeah, if I can make it a bit faster then why not.

Any advise on the M42 adapter? I think I'll go with the cheap one with the spring/pin (that I'll remove) and leave one one each lens.

It's been very quiet here for a few weeks. Is everyone on holiday or have we reached the maximum post limit?

---------- Post added 10-12-18 at 11:10 PM ----------

Still working then.

There's been a few nice lenses on TM hope you guys grabbed a couple.

I've myself scored a P30n with 2x 50mm 1.7 M and a Spotmatic with 3 lenses (55, 135, 80-250), all for free, thanks to being the only Pentax user at a 150+ members camera club :)
I might have to buy a couple of M42 adapter now. I've refrained from going that route so far.

Just saw that.
Could be tempted by the 43, dunno if I can justify it though having the 31 and FA50/1.7.

Missed the big aurora last Sunday. Tried my luck after the main event but it did not come back.
Still managed to grab a nice shot while waiting. Was nice to test the Samyang 20mm for astro too.

Thanks. Do they work on FF?

---------- Post added 08-30-18 at 11:45 PM ----------

Just noticed they have 3 positions so I guess either mid way or fully extended should work.
Thanks.

Thanks. Yes I've been with CPS for the last 8 years. Been most helpful improving my photography. I think I'm the only Pentaxian there after being with Canon for over 10 years.

Will remember about the market as my wife loves goat cheese.

Yeah, such a steal I'll just send you the camera, no sack needed, it's on me. That's the least I can do since you didn't keep bidding.

Yeah, I'm pretty surprised and feel a bit guilty about it.
Especially after the rip off of his Canon gear last week which is already being resold for 3x the price...
At least, I'm going to make good use of my purchase, not for resale!

Well MarkJerling, the camera is yours. Will let you know once it turns up.

There is a Super-Takumar 28mm F3.5 (model 1 early) that just came up if anyone is interested.
Seems good value and said to be in perfect condition.

Yes, you can have the body although I'm not intending to bid too high and there are many watchers so we'll see how it goes.

Most likely.
I'm quite guttered as the guy had a lovely collection of Canon film gear which I was super keen on and just as I made, what I thought to be a low but reasonable offer ($400 while it was probably worth more like $600), he had already accept $150 like 5min ago :( Listings weren't even there since an hour.
I'm keen on the 50mm but won't go crazy as it's a focal length I've always struggled with.
