Red Fox - Panasonic G9 + Tamron Adaptall-2 SP 300/2.8 360B...
Shot at f/4, cropped 50% or more. It's pleasing to see an old lens perform well when mated with a demanding sensor. (if you right-click and select open image in new tab, you can see a larger version) |

Now I want a GRmonochrome that has a hot swap yellow filter. :)
I think all the negativity about these cameras is silly. Ricoh has already shown that switching out little things on the existing camera is fairly easy to do and mostly well-liked. They have a nice platform in the GRiii, the fact that they can make iterations is pretty darn cool to me.

Thanks. Pretty sure that was around f/5.6 or narrower. But it's such a fiddly little lens it's easy to knock the settings off by just focusing. But it has "character" :) Did you get the funky little hood with yours?

Looks impressive on that modern mirrorless. Would be interested to see what it can do on a digital body.
Please: No art. No composition. No storytelling here. Just a display of pastel colours Kodak DX-7630 can capture. Finally it came after the overcast grey day. SOOC JPEG, cropped.

I've posted so many images of Dahlia in repose, I thought I owed it to her to show she isn't always sleeping. Here are four from our most recent agility meet. Lighting at indoor venues is never better than barely adequate for photography. The dogs are moving fast so a wide aperture and the highest possible ISO are required. The pros who take images for sale at larger events are almost always using FF Nikons with the ISO up at 25,000.

The background bokeh isn't uniform, but the two OOF bright streaks sort of lead your eye to the primary subject. A slightly different version of this image (= not as deeply cropped) was posted some time ago, probably on a different thread.

Why? I can't comment with any authority on gear I don't try.
Before this it was a Nikon Z5 and I came away unimpressed. I also tried a Sony a7III, and ditto, nothing for me that my K3III didn't give me. I was confident I would not like a Sony a9 either, but willing to give it a go and glad I did. I discovered there were reasons to have one (surprise!) despite a preference for Pentax OVF, menus, and ergonomics. So that one became a keeper.
Buying the Megadap is what makes a mirrorless Nikon more viable for someone like me owning very good Sony lenses, and without one I wouldn't have bothered with the Zf. I wouldn't have bothered with a Sony either if the Monster Adapter wasn't available and working so well with my Pentax glass that fills out the missing pieces for my a9.
At the end of the day, I've no desire to get rid of my much-loved Pentax gear, which is the only way I could have afforded to dabble in other cameras, barring adapters that allow mix-and-match. The intent is to augment what I have and not replace it.
You are right of course that the Zf does seem to be more of a niche camera which I hadn't properly considered beforehand. But that said I think I prefer the Nikon Zf autofocus performance to Sony's. BTW I've disabled most of the focus options on both bodies. There's a silly number of them, which I'm sure is a source of severe confusion for new owners, as if the massive number of overall menu options isn't.
