yeah, i understand, sometime we youngster look back at 80s,90s and just feel amazed with how wonderful musical quality compare to what we listen nowadays, but we just realized we has been through nearly another 2 decades, everything just keep changing, i'm glad that there still many people appreciated older generations and take as great inspirations to create better and creative stuffs beyond trendy commercial scene
here is examples of what i'm listening, quite a time gap, also a obsecure genre :p You Tube |

just got a used rx10 mark iii on ebay with very reasonable price and worked perfectly, should be the best backup when my K70 and her lenses rest a home
despite excellent carl zeiss len optical quality, the 1 inch sensor is very easily to break itself when you overdo peeping and post processing, also noise invasion is visible when you go above iso 200 (maybe i got used too much with APSC, my nerves was stretched like crazy) |

in the crazed world with alots of smartphone crowds around, now just think how to make yourself a little bit special that stand out and get more loves on social media everyday :D
i have K70 so i would go all the way to 18-135, versatility and practical, it's not about superior image quality, but get most of works done to make not only yourself, but your friends, family happy enough to make up a good, full of smiling day
for self pleasure, i would go for 20-40, and 55-300 PLM, for rogue, creative shooting

i didn't like how smartphone evolution nowadays, many manufacturers thinking smartphone should be repurpose as mini PC powerhouse, photography tool wannabe
and look, smartphone is getting bigger and thicker!! oh dear
for me, smartphone should be small and and compact as possible to fit nicely on any pocket, thats why i remember old era smartphone
effectively fast phone calling, messaging, decent features entertainment, decent camera...
what the world has turned on

As the title said
here is the video i made few months ago, really enjoy the light shower, thing worked perfectly fine after that, no leak You Tube |
src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/i0r_R86lpUY?controls=1" allowfullscreen> |
and this is few week ago on the beach, i accidentally pushed the test to higher limit
- body worked fine, no leak, have to shower few time to make some sands go away to unstuck the shutter button
- the len seem fine, no leak? but the mainboard malfunction (can't AF)...oops!
Proud of being K70 user! :D

I may feel over-confident, or maybe i think i'm idiot myself, yeah, i tried to impress some hot chicks in the beach, so i paid a price.....
but i guess my case could be "18-135 can't do"
K70+18-135 against beach water on sand ground, a small tide suddenly slapped both 2!
so how the result after?
+ The K70 body survive wonderfully, but some sands made shutter button stucks, i have fixed that by pouring water to make sand out, the shutter button live again!
+ The 18-135 survive, seem like there is no dust, water come inside, wow really? but what are the bad things?
* AF stopped working, only MF
* Aperture jumping around 3.5-4 at 18mm, confuse exposure metering, smaller F cause overexposure
* Can't switch live view, if i do so, the camera automatically switch for to VF mode, but movie mode is fine, but unable to enter menu settings, oop!
i tried attach other len, everything worked normal, so i knew 18-135 really broken now!
please guy, don't ever try that! |

now, it's turned up 2.5 years for me using 18-135, and alots of zooming on many weather conditions, until now i didn't see any dirt, moisture in
that mean the WR seals effective and still going strong
the SP fluorine is also a big bless for easier cleaning without too much babysiting, the front surface still new shiny like fresh virgin
the len is such great example of crop ideal travelzoom len should be
The Nikon, Canon, Sony, Tamron, Sigma ones made me disappointed, they think those features are just too luxury to add on low consumer products
i also look at Fujifilm and Olympus ones, that look similar level as Pentax, but not sure if there are fluorine
now i really hope that pentax can release a HD version, or maybe a little bit more range like 18-250, 18-300

i totally come back 18-135 and really enjoy using it  "superior quality" isn't my concern anymore, i mostly upload my photo to social website so what matter the most now for me is the content of the photos!;)
didn't mean i not going to get any new len, i have plan starting my architecture photo service so i gonna aim for wide len, maybe 15mm
btw, 18-135 is also work quite effectively for shooting wedding, event where cilent just want "hey, did you get photos?"

impressive flare resistance for such a consumer 2011 kit zoom len, bravo SMC coating!
i still remember my canon era, when i using 18-55, at this situation, sure the len will get terrible ghosting, flare issue!
looking forward to HD version...someday! |

nice bird photo, cee cee!
my copy is suprisingly sharp at 300m when stopped down to f8, f9, center to edge....wow!
this picture is also treated with some corrections in photoshop IMGP2236 | Nguyen Hai Nam | Flickr
but there are also some focal length suffered softness on the right, stopped down won't help much, post-sharpen can't fix too
for my copy, i didn't examine all focal length,but i notice 55mm, 110mm, 230mm are so terrible!
here also my attempt in panning shot IMGP2240 | Nguyen Hai Nam | Flickr |

another happy, grateful PLM 55-300 thread? hey, read titile carefully.......
i have to admit that my financial at moment is my serious issue
so i got screw drive version instead, my impression is the len is beautiful...... to my eye
what i have seen,i feel pity for it. the len was overshadowed by PLM version, should it deserve more love?
do you still keep the len, or already left it behind, follow the call of PLM?
if you still keep and using the len, please, if you don't mind, i would love to see your time with it! :p
this is my first photo attempt using the len |

So everytime people hear abour cameras, lenses that made of plastic material
most always complain
"Oh pls
Plastic is cheap, toy-ish
Plastic is not serious
Plastic isn't durable and will fall-apart soon
overall plastic is a joke, so deal-breaker"
what do you think? is plastic really that bad?
