Very nicely explained without a lot of fluff. Thanks a million. I've not yet gotten around to focus-stacking but it is on my short list. Your really nice stacks are encouraging.

Hoping to image wildlife in Aland archipelago.
Tripod will be Gitzo GT3542L. I need to come up with a light weight head for it.
Manfrotto 229 weighs as much as the legs do...

Landscape The charm of the Waddensea just before and after sunset

I pounced on some free time to explore two special moments on the flats and the shore of the Waddensea in two locations. The first one is at low tide at a place called Moddergat which translates to Mudhole in English... I was about too leave when the sky turned red. The second location is a place called Koehool where I've been experimenting with shooting at night. The light on the other side is of a lighthouse on the island of Terschelling; the Brandaris. It is the oldest still working lighthouse in the Netherlands and was build in 1594. I stacked 50 photo's to achieve this; each with a shutter speed of 15 seconds and ISO6400 at F2.8.

Cheers,

Remco

Be careful not to look directly at the sun when photographing the the kite flyer, put the camera on a tripod and wait for him to fly by! Hint, A polarizing filter helps cut down the glare.

They will need that new $1 billion building for all the sensors for the K-new camera that they'll need to make! ;)

old film

Given the price of developing nowadays I would say it's not really worth shooting old film. You would probably get better results from cheap film that is still good.

Just buy one. Any one. Enjoy. After awhile, you will realize what you want that the first lens doesn't do. Then buy that one. Repeat. All choices are good.
