True that, I wasn't trying to image just yet. I was just playing with it at home. Now that I got the basics, I can't wait to go out in couple days and image

So I got the mount. I'm impressed by the fit and finish for 500 CAD. It balances my k1 with the 70 200 mm D FA pretty nice using the counterweight. However, I can not see crap through the polar scope. It's basically just black even with light flashed on the side. Any insight? Is there something I'm missing?

Thank you for the clear info. I’m actually on the way to Elk water here in Alberta to try the Astrotracer one more time after following the advise. If I don’t get the desired results I’ll look into an EQ mount

I’m very interested in AP but the Astrotracer hasn’t lived up to my expectations. Anything longer than 10 seconds I get egging. Don’t matter if I’m using the 15 mm lens or 70 to 200mm.
I decided that a motorized EQ mount would be a good solution. Just can’t seem to find a good one that has excellent reviews in that price point. Any advise?

Yes I will, unfortunately I had another long day at work and I didn’t get the chance to do more testing.

What is the effect of leaving SR on at all times?

---------- Post added 07-03-18 at 11:54 PM ----------

Yes, I’m not bashing the 28 105 but I was rather expecting a huge difference in sharpness given the huge difference in price. Still like you all nice people said, I need to try more testing with different techniques.

The chair pic is on a tripod and also pixel shifted. The other two was handheld but with fast shutter speed. It's just an expensive lens and I wanna make sure I'm getting a good copy. Any suggestions. N.B: its dark and rainy outside.

So I don't think it's as sharp as everyone raved about. Unless, I'm just really not good with the system yet. Keep in mind I'm an amateur. Any feedback would be appreciated. Also, I just came back from my full time job and I'm so exhausted so I do not have time today to go out and be creative. I specifically took those just to as a preliminary test to the lens.

Everyone said it would be a razor sharp lens but the way I see it is not much of a difference between this and the Kit 28-105

Hellllllppppppp

With all due respect, I’m talking about what works best for me. If I didn’t have time to inspect an item in 2 days and then I discover It’s faulty in one way or the other, I’d like to know that I can return it without eating the shipping cost.
Ps: I mentioned I order a lens from them because it was 700$ cheaper than from amazon but given that even if it was faulty and I didn’t discover it past that time frame, I’d gladly eat the shipping cost as the other option was twice the price.
That’s my first dealing with them, reviews on the web aren’t the greatest.

I'll probably be keeping an eye to. I ordered the FA 70 200 mm and it's one expensive lens. I'll check every centimeter to make sure it's not a returned item.
