Ah yeah, the Kaleinar 3 is a quite good lens, even though it's hard to use, first due to its weight, but also due to its incredibly shallow "sharp area". some says it's soft, it might be the version though. I personnally have the post-96 version with the new body design and colours on the depth of field indicator window. It works fine but unfortunately my pentacon 6 to pentax K adapter (from K&F Concept) is stuck on it and I absolutely can't get it off, even with WD40 :hmm: ... and note too that the filter thread part is very thin so it can be bumbed very easily (I talk from experience). :)

well....

maybe next time I have a flu I'll avoid writing such things, haha. I'm perfectly fine by the way. I'll just rest and everything will be okay :P

Sorry for telling my life that's something I hate above every other things.

And sorry to the moderators for the unreasonnable use of the "F-word", tiredness got me a little too keyboard happy I think.

Anyway this topic is close now. Morale of the story : Don't buy cheapo SD cards, be careful when trying to repair things by yourself, and don't write comments with 39° of fever :)

Thanks for responding by the way, what a lovely community

Woo okay I took it off without breaking anything. The first cool thing that happened this day.... What a difficult day. Sorry for telling my life but in the same day I : Lost a SD card, got a flu, stuck my pentacon 6 to PK adapter on my Kaleinar 3B (even with WD40 it does not come off) and forgot ALL MY batteries and chargers while on a trip.

OKAY I just figured out why it don't work. The card that broke in the camera left a part of it in the slot, behind the contact pins. I'm trying to take it off but it really does not want... And I'm quite afraid of breaking the contact pins with the paperclip I'm using

SD card problem with K70

Greetings,
A few month ago I purchased a cheap SD card in emergency for obvious shootings reasons, but it recently broke, and I had to force-take it off of the SD card slot of my K70. Since then, I bought another good SD card this time, but it won't eject anymore and I have to force using a plier to take it off..... Did the crappy SD card broke the ejection system ? And if yes, is there a way to fix it or do I have to use the warranty ?

Thanks in advance

Indeed ! I was about to say that. I "recently" posted a review of the Jupiter 37A in which I award it of a 10/10 in terms of CA control. It's my only review in which I grant such a high grade in this category. On mine I can't see any, even at 150% zoom....

I had both lenses (I sold my latin-lettered non-mc one) and I really don't see any difference between MC and non MC version, except the price really.... Okay granted maybe the MC has a slightly better flare resistance but given the price difference I don't think it's worth the additionnal price :D

Under 100€, there's the Jupiter 37A (Юпитер 37А) which I have and like a lot, it's f/3.5. There's the Jupiter 11A which I believe to be quite sharper but is half a stop slower. The Tair (Таир) 11A is in my opinion the best but is much more expensive and have a certain amount of chromatic aberrations, but it is f/2.8 and as sharp as the two others, and offerts magnifiscent flares. You can find the jupiters between 30 and 80€/£/$ (MC jupiter 37A makes the price jump) and the tair between 80 and 135€/$/£. There's also the MC APO Telezenitar which is f/2.8 and much sharper than the Others but has no character in my opinion, and it is much more expensive. (there's one on ebay sold at 250€ nearly)

Note : all the soviet lenses with a name ending with A has a interchangeable mount shank. (T2 type, only kood ones fits though)

Note^2 : I only talk about soviet lenses because I know them quite a lot and I think they are better than their japanese equivalent for less moyen most of the time.

Split focusing screen compatibility w/K30

Greetings.
So, since I only use film lenses I want to buy a focusing screen. I've been on that website, focusingscreen.com ; but they don't have a specific catalog for the K70. Since I have a K30 I looked at the focusing screen, pentaprism and viewfinder and it looks like the same so I was wondering if this focusing screen (Focusing Screen) would work on my K70

Thank you in advance ! And sorry about my poor English...

Merry christmas everyone !

I was just wondering, has anyone here already crossed a Zenitar-K-4 or a Mir 20K ? Apparentely they exists, but personnally I've never saw them anywhere....

And, Tell me, which medium format soviet lenses do you guys have ? Personnally I have a Kaleinar 3B (Б in cyrillic, this mount is symmetrical to the pentacon 6 mount.) and the Volna 3B (Б). They're pretty awesome.

Okay, I sent a message to Leitax and they told me that the lens mount is not compatible, unfortunately. Apparentely I'll have to wait for Zenit to make K mount versions of their lenses...

Zenitar and mounts

Greetings !

So, first, let me apologize since it's a bit off-topic, but anyway, I was asking myself, as a soviet & russian lens fan, if Zenit finally resumed their lens production, and it seems that it's a yes ! But .... They gave up PK mount in favor of "C" (canon) and "N" (nikon) mounts... which thoroughly annoys me. So I was wondering if there was, maybe, a way to change the mount of these lenses... I'm asking as I don't know anything about nikon mount so I don't know if a modification is possible and would work. The only thing I know is that dummy "N" (AI) to PK adapters does not exists and are not possible for some reason. (even though dummy pentax K to Canon mount exists ... maybe there's a symmetry thing or I don't know what...). In case you were wondering, the lens that I'm showing interest into are Zenitar 28mm f/2.8 and Zenitar 85mm f/1.4 .

I do not really fear having to dismantle a lens, since manual lenses are quite simple, as long as you pay attention to what you're doing.

I apologize for my crappy English as it is not my native language,

Thank you all in advance.

This helps indeed ! I saw for the guide Thierry Hacquard made, but not the others so thanks ! Apparentely, not a lot of people though of it, I can barely find anything on the web related to this...

I'll eventually try and hopefully it'll work :)

Fotosnaiper shutter release adaptation

Hello,

I'm really considering to buy a fotosnaiper fs-122(same as fs-12 but with a zenit 122s attached), and I was just wondering if an adapter exists/existed from mechanical shutter release (I hope that fotosnaiper's shutter release is not a special one) to pentax wire controller ; and if not, if I could maybe do something else to avoid moving my fingers from the trigger to take a shot, that would be kind of stupid to have a trigger and not using it.

(I apologize for my approximative english, it's not my native language :))
Ps: I hope I submitted this in the right category...

K-30 dial repair/replacement ?

Greetings,

Since I bought my K-30 (3 years ago), the dial has always been defective, but it got more and more defective, and now I can only use P mode and TAv mode, but I would like to use other modes like M mode, Av mode or B mode :hmm: . So, is there a way I can fix it by myself, or will a professionnal be able to do it?

I apologize for my poor English, as many people it's not my native language :p

Some more images I took with the Helios 44k-4. I can really feel the fact that it's only unicoated, glare appears really fast, even with few sun ; but the image quality is good (less good than the Industar IMO) but I absolutely love the character and the spinny bokeh :D

Here are a few portrait I took today with my "unsawed" helios 44K-4 (only unicoated so sometimes the contrast goes bwwwah but it gives best flares...)

They are unedited, and unfortunately there were a lot of sun so it's overexposed and the dynamic range of the K30 does not allow me to make it look better sadly :asleep:

It doesn't work... Maybe a metal saw would be a better option... That is really no luck ! On the internet, nobody seems to have had this problem...
