Yes, there is a noticeable difference between 35mm and 50mm, the classical focal lengths and the difference between them isn't picked at random but gives a noticeable change in how close or wide you get in comparison or how the perspective change, you can understand that better if you see the difference of angle of view, which changes about the same between 24-28-35-50 and so on.
Here are a few pictures that shows the difference if you take your shot from the same position but switch lens. https://capturetheatlas.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/understanding-focal-l...-zoom.jpg.webp
It is worth to mention that it also changes the perspective if you use different lenses as it compresses or moves the background further away depending on your lens, if the subject is kept at the same relative size. https://digitaltravelcouple.com/focal-length-comparison/ |

My first Pentax wasn't really mine, but it made me a "Pentaxian".
My two uncles had been Pentax users, but one was more into Hasselblad, so I borrowed his Pentax ME for a school event in 1980, the annual "Bathtub Regatta" against the other school of technology/engineering in Stockholm, Sweden.
The rules are simple, put as many sails and masts on a self-designed floating body as you can, BUT that vessel has to be made out of bathtubs or sinks!
Anyhow, the use of my uncle's camera documenting this regatta made me want to shoot photography, although I mostly bought other Pentax K mount cameras, but always Pentax SMC lenses until I got myself a Pentax K2 DMD, the lenses where everything from the Pentax 15mm superwide to 300mm f/4.
Then I jumped brand, but there is still a fondness for some lenses, the 35mm f2, 105mm f2.8, 135mm f2.5 is on the top here.

I've always heard it's called G.A.S. ever since the last Millenium; Gear Acquisition Syndrome.
But a very mild case, I might add; when you are in the hundreds like some other here (I plead the fifth myself), you have a more severe case.

An easy mistake to do; being so close geographically, linguistically, and culturally!:lol::D:D

Kiron is the marketing name for the products made by Kino Precision Industries for their own product line, but as many other optical companies did they filled gaps in their production capacity with selling lenses to various different large outlets/stores and branded third party manufacturers like Panagor or Vivitar who all bought in their products.
I believe Komine is a separate entity, but I know too little. Wouldn't it be great with a book of all different optical manufacturers, who made optical glass only and sold to others, which company made their own lenses and sold to others and so on.

There are plenty of videos showing the amount of abuse and dirt on the lenses in order to make any visible impact on the IQ of a picture.
Generally, the closer the dirt/fungus is to the rear of the lens, it is more likely to be visible, but still, it takes a lot to be seen in the image.
There is no simple quick fix to get rid of fungus on your lens surfaces, the only way is to disassemble and clean it carefully.
There are several "how to do" videos on YouTube, I'm not sure if there is one specific for your lens.
The 105mm shouldn't be too different though. Youtu.be |

I do love primes, the balance of the camera with a prime lens. The optical qualities, as well as the limitation to work with your feet, is quite beneficial to your photography.

Welcome to the Pentax Forums!.
Personally I started shooting on a Pentax ME back in 1980-81.
Being from the "other side of the pond" I have mostly visited the airport Newark there, but I actually went to the Jersey Diamond shopping mall to check it out, or at least that I recall it was what it was called back then.

No, but I still wish I had my first DSLR with 6 Mpx CCD sensor. I'm thinking of buying one 2nd hand someday, so I claim it back.
I also had something for the CCD and their reproduction of colours.
Some of the pictures I still have though: https://flic.kr/p/2hyVRmP

Sigma must have, I have no experience of my own of Sigma's more modern lenses, just a 24mm I bought in the mid-1980s for budget restraints, besides a couple of zoom lenses I got with cameras I bought but never really used, although it was supposed to be better than average I never liked the lens and later when AF came in the picture their lenses were notorious for hunting for focus, something that Tamron was much better at.
But probably that is in all earnest because Tamron had a deal with Minolta and subcontracted several of their lenses, so they knew how the focus signals worked.
Lately, I have read a lot of reviews that confirm they are much better and especially after firmware updates.
The second issue I have heard about Sigma lenses is from people in the business working with repairing lenses and for all their "feeling" apart, mechanically the Sigma's are inferior and prone to break, especially the aperture turns into a salad after a few years of good use. The Sigma zooms I picked up by accident when buying cameras pretty much confirm it; half are "dead" focusing screw, zoom mechanism or aperture are broken.
Though I confess lately Sigma has made some tempting lenses, I still consider buying but; it's hard for an old dog like me to change my habits.

We've had plenty of snow already this year (2019) up in the north, but that is north of the Arctic circle on the Arctic tundra and mountain ranges.

Kenworth is a big name in the trucking business, although I have little experience of them as here in Europe the market is dominated by Scania, Volvo, Mercedes, MAN and a couple others.

Yes, there is colour, structure and "alive" background, certainly more interesting than just casual.
