IMHO you're better off getting one with the 75mm f/2.8. It's a much better lens than either of those zooms and f/2.8 is a much brighter image in the viewfinder. Also getting the 75mm with the body is, cost wise, the best way to buy it. The zooms are much cheaper buying solo. The 75mm runs used in the $500 range, where those two zooms sell in the $150 range.

I'd like to see a compact flash unit. I'd also like a real leather case...like the ones Olympus Pens came with. That pleather crap they used in the late 70s was garbage.

This might be something you can clean yourself if you have the tools needed... JIS screwdriver set, span wrench, tweezers, rubber stopper lens tools (for removing the front name ring), cleaning tools (cotton buds, isopropanol, acetone, lens tissue).
Most of the time the haze is between the front and rear lens groups where the diaphragm sits. So if you remove both lens groups you can clean those surfaces. If the haze is between other lenses of the front or rear lens groups, you would need to take apart the lens groups assembly.
While I've never seen this on a 50mm, I have a 100mm macro that developed a blue swirl cloudiness that is the result of either a coating degradation or the cement between two cemented lens elements. If it's this, there is no fixing it (unless you are skill and decrementing lens elements and recementing after cleaning.
For $35 it's not worth sending out to repair. You can get a mint condition one for $75.
Here is a link to disassembly, but there are more on YouTube... https://youtu.be/RRN5TM6mILs?si=jyIiQhDa37wy6NzN |

It's funny you mentioned this... Yesterday I was searching all over the Internet for a silicone skin for the K3iii. I have one for my Nikon Z5 and it does a nice job protecting the camera. I had my K3iii in my backpack wrapped in a small towel and I still got rub marks down to the metal on the prism apex.
I did find stick-on skins for the K70 and for lenses, but nothing for the K3iii.

I don't know why you are removing the top cover to fix the popup issue. Just remove to 2 screws, one on each side of the popup flash cover. Here is what I previously posted...
The spring goes from the lower plate center hole to a plastic post up by the prism apex. What usually happens is the metal spring breaks off the plastic pin. I've fixed this several ways... I glued a small (3mm) post (clipped from a paper clip) to the spot where the plastic pin was. This method may work for a while but mine eventually popped off. A better method I use now is the get some UV light curing resin and build up a little post...like a whipped cream point... and cure it with the UV light. It gets pretty hard when set and seems to hold. Be sure to prep the spot first by cleaning with isopropyl alcohol and scuffing up the surface with a file to give the resin something to hold onto. If you search this forum you should find my previous posts on this topic.

I use lens cleaning wipes and microfiber cloth. I've scratched plastic eyepiece lenses with q-tips so I don't use them on optics. |

I'm not sure if Nikon ever made a screw drive teleconverter. I think Tamron had one and the Kenko 1.5x Teleplus SHQ was screw drive. Also there's a 2x Kenko... Teleplus 2X MC7

B&H has Kodak ProImage 100 ISO 36 exp 5 roll box for $39.95. That's 11¢ an image on 1/2 frame.

Actually I cheated... I got a hold of a minty black MX that has severe internal rust. I sent it out for an estimate and was told it was beyond repair. So I took my dinged up chrome body and exchanged all the silver parts for black.

I have 3 MX, one chrome and two black and the 35/2.8M makes for my favorite (film) street camera. Also nice on the ME. |

I'm guessing those are grey market as they are shipping from Hong Kong. If I spend that much on a lens I'll spend the extra $300 and get it from B&H or Adorama.
That's interesting that Samyang and Rokinon have the (I assume) same lens. I wonder who designed it?

$1800 at B&H... Probably not many available used as this lens is new to z mount. I'm very tempted to get one for my Z5...maybe later this year.
I think the #1 issue for Pentax survival is getting Tamron and Sigma back to Pentax mount... Or maybe Pentax needs to change mounts ... Licence the z mount from Nikon. At some point 20 year old lens designs with a new coating isn't going to cut it.

You might want to look at the Tamron 35-150 f/2-2.8. It's not cheap, but it's a good lens for weddings. The 24-70/4 is a very sharp lens and you can get one used in the $300 range.
Also a couple of off camera flash units with stands can overcome lighting issues.

I did pick up another that works ... But I would still like to get a capacitor and make the original one work. I think 16v would work. The battery is 15v. The capacitor pictured does come out. It's held in position with clips at each end with a hole in the middle and the capacitor pin slips into. I'll take a look at the links sent. Appreciate it.
Btw...I have about a dozen flash cubes and it's kind cool using them. Shoot the picture, rotate the cube to the next bulb. Also the Konica C35 automatically sets the correct aperture based on the guide number set and the focus distance. |

I have a Konica flash cube unit that comes with the Konica C35. I need to replace the capacitor. The capacitor is marked 130uf 15WV and it's about 2cm long with end posts. I've searched Digikey and others but I haven't found anything close. Any idea where I can find one? |

Actually....
Most lithium metal batteries are non-rechargeable*and are used in film cameras. Lithium-ion packs are rechargeable and power laptops, cellular phones and camcorders.
So both exist... But in the case of all modern digital cameras they are all rechargeable. I remember when I bought my first digital camera, an Olympus D320L I needed to use Li batteries because alkaline battery discharge was not flat... So 4-5 pics shot and the camera would turn off. This was 1996 or so ..and rechargeable Li batteries weren't available in AA. You had to get NiCd if you wanted rechargeable.

Cosina also made the Exakta HS camera bodies, and probably a number of the Exakta K mount lenses. And now they make Voightlander lenses.

How much I would pay depends on what it is. I've paid as much as $300 for half frames and that was 20 years ago. I just picked up a Ricoh Auto Half E2 and it came in the box with everything including a nice leather case. If I could buy a half frame that's as nicely built new today with a warranty I would think $500 and I'd want one. Even if it were more like an Olympus Pen D3 I'd be interested. I'm hoping for a nice build quality...metal top and bottom at least. |

I might be interested in the half frame for the right price....say for under $250. I have owned a number of half frames over the years including the Pen F and FT and a Pen EES. Currently I have a Pen D3 and a Ricoh Auto Half ES2. The Pen D3 has no auto mode...just a meter with EV readout you manually set on the lens. Shutter speeds from 1/500 to 1/8, and B. Focus is scale focus with detents at 3 zones... 1.2m, 3m and infinity. Also the lens is a 30mm f/1.7.

I prefer the stainless steel tank...I got a 1 roll Nikon tank, a 2 roll Omega tank. I also have a plastic tank with adjustable height, so I can develop 110 and 127 in it. I used to have a 4 reel stainless tank... I need to get one of those.
Btw...there's a nice app on my android phone named Dev It! And it has film/developer processing times and you can use it as your timer for the steps.
