My second hand K-3 has arrived from Adorama and I am waiting on the FedEx man for the lenses.Any advice on what I should look for to check that the camera is in good working condition?The body and screens are free of any dings and scratches,the camera looks to be super clean.

Thanks for all the help. I have ordered a K-3 (E condition) from Adorama for a little under $400 and 2 lenses from KEH everything should be here on Weds.

I have decided that it would be more prudent to buy a K-3 that is not defective from the start and have found a number of options in the $380-$400 range in excellent condition with 180 day warranties.What do you guys think of these 2 lenses I am thinking of pairing up with the K-3?...
Pentax 16-45mm F/4 SMC DA ED AL ($140)
Pentax 35-70mm F/3.5-4.5 SMC F ($50)

I just looked at a K-3 that looked to be ln almost brand new condition,very clean.It does have an issue though,it does not save the date and time when the battery is removed.The price of the camera is $320 with a 2 week return for any reason policy and a limited 180 day warranty.Does anyone have any knowledge of this particular issue and what are your thoughts on the deal?

I used to shoot a lot of film, for 35mm I used Nikons mainly F4 ,F2 and FE and I also have a Bronica Etrsi setup but my first ever camera owned was a Pentax K1000 that I bought in the late 70s with lawn mowing and paper route money.When Nikon stopped making Ektachrome I sold the F4 and all the AF lenses I had.
I have never owned a DSLR but have had a few different point and shoot digital cameras the best was a Lumix that was like 8mp and had a Leica lens.

Hi I am considering buying a second hand Pentax DSLR and could use some ideas from people.My question is;should I buy a K-3 (VG condition with 16,000 actuations) and a 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 AL WR lens for $475 or a
k-s2 body (mint condition with 190 actuations) plus a Sigma AF 17-50mm F2.8 DC EX HSM (Excellent condition) for $540?
