Didn't take any photos this week due to COVID restrictions, yet viewing the photos in this week's thread shows how great these weekly snap compilations can be. Well done all, and thank you Nosliwmit for hosting. Hope to have some of my own on the next posting.
Cheers.

This is why RICOH should continue the Pentax brand and market it a bit more. Pentax to me is my go to kit when I want to shoot in extreme conditions. Weather proof and fast with a superb 37mp+ sensor, et al. Even in the twilight age of Single-Reflex cameras, there is still relevance in a tank-like built SLR that delivers.
I had the K-1 Mark II, but preferred the K-1 sans the filter. Both units are wonderful and I appreciate fellow users on this forum demonstrating their enthusiasm for the K-1 series.

I want to thank all of you who sent your condolences and good wishes for Howard. It's reassuring that the folks here at the Forum remember him, and though is gone, it reassures me he is not forgotten. Here's a recent photo taken prior to him getting sick....Thanks again everyone, it is truly appreciated.

dlh: I am sorry to report that over the next few weeks I will be posting the big guy's last photos. he passed away last month after nearly 11 years. His hips gave away and he was unable to walk. In pain, we had him put down at home with my family surrounding him. I have 1000's of photos of him and form time to time will post some--many were taken with my Pentax kits and he was one of my favorite subjects.
Thanks for commenting about Howard. A large dog like him really does become a family member just on size alone, but St. Bernards docile natures made him a friend to all living things. Hope you and your family are well

My K-S2 cracked while in my carry-on and was never the same. Since I have several other Pentax bodies, I used the Pentax KP in its place. The KP is mostly magnesium, has a faster shutter and AF, and is just as compact or smaller. I weighs more, but I like the adjustable grips and certainly the K-70 is an excellent piece, I simply think for the small additional cost, the KP is a winner.
Believe it or not, I still use the K-5ii often. it's the 16mp sweet spot of Pentax and still venerable after all these years.
Pentax itself is just generally well-built regardless of the model you buy. The K-70 is a great value and I wish you many years of enjoyment.

Caption Conest for the Week of July 7 thru July 14. Votes counted up thereafter.
You are still allowed to vote with a like, even if you haven't entered yourself.
Submissions can be in any written form (no video or audio files) — caption, limerick, motivational, poem or prose — whatever inspires you to describe the photo or catch attention. Submit by replying to the thread. Contestants may submit more than one entry but it must be in a separate post. Important: Even if you do not submit an entry, please “like” any posts you feel deserve it as this is how the winner is chosen. And if you DO submit an entry, please also find an entry that you like from among your competitors' efforts and "like" that one as well.
The "thread starter" is the moderator and must post an original photo at the start of the thread. In case of a tie the moderator will choose one to break the tie. After determination of the contest's winner, that winner will be notified ASAP after by the current Thread Starter/Contest Host and will become responsible for posting the next original work to be captioned. Enter often, vote more often. Good luck and enjoy.

Well, I appreciate the votes and I shall have the next caption up in a few hours.....and when I first moved to the Philly area, I mispronounced Bala Cynwyd (the "C" is a hard K sound) and looked embarrassingly touristy when i stated where is Bala "Sin"wid?
In actuality Bala is a tony suburb of Philly in the main line area....

I enjoyed my K-3ii also, but after using my K-1 and my KP (size and speed in an APS-c), I decided to sell my K-3ii. After 5 years of light use (less than 8,000 snaps), I sold it for $700 -- I was surprised that a 5 year old camera kept its value but the speed and improvements of the newer bodies kept the K-3ii at home and saw no reason to not let someone else enjoy the Pentax way.
