Gotta be one of the most foolish things they've done. makes no sense for these special updates. Why did it have to be lens specific? Is there a workaround to this? Why no Pentax KP involvement? Would if you prefer the older ltm to the newer?

I have had the same issue and its been very frustrating. I've sent it back to Precision Camera twice now with the first time for an additional issue which was the IBIS jittering whenever it was enabled. This was covered under warranty at the time and the IBIS issue was fixed but I had to return it again to Precision for it seemed whatever they did to fix the first issue, it caused another which was the color cast of the display was very off, everything was of a green hue. Sent it again to fix that for it to only return once again with the color issue gone but the same wheel problem. By that time maybe a month or so had passed due to many things going on personally (some covid related with work) I finally had the opportunity to return the camera once more to Precision for the wheel problem. Once it arrived I was contacted by them explaining that the camera was now out of warranty!? WTF! I tried contacting Ricoh about it explaining that I purchased this camera with this defect but all I got was generic answer and just said screw it, paid Precision $360 I believe to repair the wheel......but hey guess what....its now as of writing this April 7th 2021 not even a year past the issue has returned!!!! I swear if I didn't love this camera I probably would have tossed it but the cost of owning it has ballooned well passed a grand. I'm sorry its a great little camera but its build quality is nowhere in comparison to the previous one. I'm still contemplating whether or not to contact Precision again about the issue and press them about it but on repair they give you about 30 or 60 days warranty but this is obviously well passed that. I'm even tempted at opening it up myself to see whats the cause for I can only suspect perhaps some lint or dirt has gotten into the wheel and is the cause of the problem.

Used it recently for a get together and it came in very handy. My shutter speed remained at 1/100 whilst using a TTL flash. Aperture shifted depending on available light and I would adjust my ISO accordingly from 100 to 800 on my KP. Overall not something I would use all the time since I mainly shoot street/cityscapes for I can see it's use for portraits and events just so long your shutter can freeze the motions and from the few tries using it, it seems to work just fine.

Is there a way to convert the 16-50mm f2.8 to screw drive using a KP or K1?

Looking good. Could live without it the flip screen but it would sure be handy. I hope they'll come out with a newer KP sooner

You have to press and hold both the AF/AE-L button and shutter then focus manually. Once whatever is in focus it should fire. Tested this with a manual 50mm f2 lense and a Sigma 8-16mm with focus on the lense set to MF. Doesn't seem to work with any of my limited lenses .

Hasn't Pentax shown at least up to the KP offerings, that you can have mirrorless capabilities in a DSLR?

Has anyone ever tried tightening the screw found on the ring as a means to preventing it from easily falling off?
