big problem Pentax k5 LCD display

I'm about to move on to ultrasonic tank cleaning, hoping the problem is a false contact. However, I will update the results. Technical assistance is very dependent on the country in which There you are. I was able to prove firsthand that for example in Canada, Pentax has excellent assistance, but living in Italy It is no coincidence that I have decided that this Pentax will be my last Pentax

big problem Pentax k5 LCD display

Hello to all. I have a big problem with my Pentax k5 where for no reason the lcd stopped working. Thinking the backlight or display was broken, I bought new ones,But I did not get any results. By checking the connector that goes from the backlight to the motherboard, I saw that I have no board in input,So it makes me think that the problem is on the motherboard, but I really don't know where to put my hands there. My question is simple: before throwing it away, I was wondering if there is any documentation Electronics technician, to try to figure out what's wrong on the motherboard, or if anyone here on the group had similar problems and can give me some suggestions. Thanks in advance everyone And greetings from Italy. PS: I also tried to backlight the display with an external power supply, but even so the images are not visible, so I suppose there is no power even to the liquid crystals

no, once you have separated the two rings, the two lenses inside, are separated, or at least in my 55-300, they are separate. so you just have to push them to the rear ;)

hello P4trick. if you talk about how to divide the front lens group, it is relatively simple. you will notice that in the center of the aluminum casing there is a crack. That is the coupling point of two half-shells screwed one inside the other. If you look closely at the two half-shells, you will notice that there are also holes, which I suppose are used to insert one tool to assemble / disassemble the lens group, so if you are patient, you could also build a special tool. I have not used any wrench, but only the hands, even if I warn you that the two parts are screwed very well and there is also a thread lock in the thread. To reposition everything in the same way, I advise you to make reference points on the lenses and the two half-shells, with an indelible marker, so you will be sure that the lenses will resume the same position

Hello everybody. I had already had problems with mushrooms with this lens, but I had solved them by removing it from the front. Today, instead, I tried to take pictures and discovered that the diaphragm didn't open and close. Consequently I thought to disassemble the back part in order to verify the problem. Here, the problem I solved it, but while I was removing the back cover, the spring contact of the selector "A" was released and jumped out. Fortunately I recovered both the spring and its metal cap, but I can't understand how it should be reinserted. I see that there is a small milling on the cap, and I am wondering if there was a seger ring in it. Can anyone give me confirmation?
Thank you in advance.

ok friends,
when you understand that with the good you can not get anything, move on to the bad. Here are the photos of the lens opening, after making two holes in the plastic ring, opening it with a watchmaker's tool, lens cleaning and reassembly.

anyway .... lens set totally open, clean and closed. Of course, all the various cleaning attempts I have made, have created micro-scratches on the lenses, so in cases like this the only advice I can give is to open everything and clean with degreasing soap and water. Other cleaning systems are absolutely useless, if not to do damage

Look, just to avoid problems I was resorting to 99.9% pure isopropyl that everywhere they say is perfect to clean the lenses because it leaves no residue or halo. Well, from personal experience I have to answer that many people speak but few know. This alcohol leaves many more halos and stains than normal alcohol and if you really want to clean and degrease the lenses deeply, the best solution was and remains the dishwashing detergent and rinsing in distilled water. Unfortunately I fell into the trap and now I do not really know how to solve. I am really afraid to try to disassemble the lens group, also because it is stuck with the threadlocker.

Technical question to DA 55-300 ED disassembly

Hi UncleVanya, I'm sorry for the inaccuracies.
Enclosed the construction scheme of the DA 55-300 AL + photos of my lens. Excuse me for my English, but it is very difficult to use technical terms that I only know in Italian.
As I said, I have two problems: The first is to reposition the first slow group at the right focal length, while the second is of the halos present in the aforementioned group of lenses. As seen from the diagram, the lens group in question is composed of 3 lenses: the first two I think are glued, while the third should not be. My doubt is if going to disassemble the lens group, do not compromise something. The other slow groups did not tonic them because luckily the mold was present only on the surface of the outermost lens of the second group.
As you can see, this morning I discovered that the halo in the center of the lens is gone, but now there are small spots all around the lens. It is evident that these spots are positioned between the lenses and are probably located between the second and third lenses

no twilhelm, in this case I do not think that's the problem because if I have to stick to the technical documentation, in that box there are 3 lenses: the first and the second are glued, while the third is detached from the other two, and in all probability it is precisely between the second and third lens that has created that halo. For the moment I'm trying to see if isopropyl alcohol succeeds in penetrating and absorbing moisture (if moisture is) even if I am afraid that it can dissolve the glue between the first and second lens, resulting in irreparable damage

Technical question to DA 55-300 ED disassembly

Hi everyone. I'm again asking for advice for another photographic lens that has problems. It is a Da 55-300 ED that a few months ago was "infected" by the mold present in 28 mm (so I had already opened another thread). I knew very well that opening a lens like that is not easy it would be done at home because it will probably be damaged, but I hated that mold too much and I felt obliged to try to remove it. Consequently, thanks also to the construction scheme found on the internet (file: /// D: / Downloads / DAL 55 300 Service Parts.pdf) I removed the first group of lenses and I arrived at the mold that fortunately was on the first tooth of the second group. Now, the first problem of course is to reposition the first lens in the exact point, while the second is that in the first group of lenses (L100) a halo has been created that I think is condensation between L1 / L2 (which should be glued) and L3 . My question is simple: Do you think it is possible to separate the group and be able to remove that halo, or that group of lenses must remain closed and it is absolutely unthinkable to open it?

Thanks in advance for the advice

Danilo

Hello Mike. Basically the problem of mold would have solved it for some time, if only I could unscrew the front part of the lens -_-. Thanks for the welcome ;)

hahahaha. Fortunately in the world we speak English and not Italian (Excluding pizza, mandolin, spaghetti and mafia; ..)). For the rest I can not give you reason why Italy is full of beautiful cities to photograph ... every great city history, but also every small town has a great charm, although I believe that any part of the world has its beautiful places ... you just need to know how to see them;)

Thanks blumoon722. I have to check if they are available in Italy, because in addition to the biblical times to get them from the states, I should still consider shipping costs. I'm trying with anything I have available, but it seems literally soldered

I confirm that this has no opening at the sides, it is visible screws at maximum extension. It is practically impossible that it should be done from behind, so the only possible problem is that it has been soldered or maybe some old owner has glued it

neither to her nor to her uncle. I was very nervous when I wrote this post and I could not sleep. As a result, since I could not finish cleaning on the 28th, I started to disassemble the M 55 1.7, and at 4:00 AM, it is not the right time to do these things.

yes, this is it. I had already found it on an Australian site .. now I just hope it is the right scheme, even if I have some doubt. The shell enclosing the lenses has a sign that makes it clear exactly until the point of the thread was screwed, but respecting this scheme the metal "plug" does not screw to the same point. Very strange

Thanks Kerrowdown. Unfortunately I'm not very expert in the repair of optics and my English is not very good, especially when it comes to the technical environment. As a result, many things I can not understand -_-. I ask you in advance to be patient with me;)

Hi aslyfox!
Thanks to the availability. I have already opened a new thread. I found myself with the mold in two lenses, three. The 55/300 I had already managed to clean a few months ago, while I still have outstanding M55 1.7 and A28 2.8. I live near the sea and unfortunately, mildew and humidity are never lacking.

Hi everyone, this is my first post and I ask you to apologize if it is not the right section to post it, and even more I apologize for my bad English. I write to ask if anyone has the assembly scheme of an old pentax A 28mm f2.8. sn.5332597 I'm trying to open to remove a mold. the problems I have at this moment are two: on the front I can not remove the front cover ring, while the back I managed to open and clean it, but in my absence my niece "played" with the removed lenses and now I have the doubt of having mounted them by reversing the position of the faces. I'm sure the order of arrangement is correct but I'm afraid of having inverted the inner face with the external one, and in the absence of the assembly scheme I do not know how to do it. I have already searched on the page dedicated to the lens here on the website, but unfortunately it is not present. Can someone help me? also someone has any idea why I can not unscrew the front? thank you in advance. Dani
