It has been busy and emotional month.
I believe it has been similar for many. Hope you are coping well, and I think that most of you are.
I'm truly happy that my new way of doing my business has taken off alteast so that I'll be making it too. I have a lot to learn in video depatrment, seems that being part of this photo challenge as other, it does help me to get hang of new things like this too. I'm debating on if I'll have time to attemp next month thou because Streaming and prepairing it is pretty much fulltime job. Let's see. Perhaps i'll do some video and photo. I have to learn a lot of things. I have been pleasently surprised by my K-1 for it's video and HDMI out especially, and if it's sensor could handle LED's and it would be better if when light dramatically changes there would not be reacting to that, it would be even better, but no. It is for photography but still video is better than lot of people say it is. But having that BMPCC now really shows me that things can be better. And it don't have to be expensive(was looking Panny, but purely video/cinema BMPCC is better. Unless one buys GH5 or better.) Thinking of buying one more of BMPCC still..let's see how things evolve from here.
Just some thoughts.
going to think if I'll join. Just wanted to share some of my thoughts. Lot of thoughts more but I'll keep them for my self now.
Take care you all. one more day to go this month :)

Hi Friends. Just dropping in to share a very special and unplanned event on my trip through the Caucasian states.
My request to photograph these Armenian blokes at a birthday picnic was greeted with great enthusiasm, an insistence that I have my picture taken with them, followed by further insistence that I join the celebration. Multiple vodka toasts in a very short period (my bus was waiting) and some of the food. Mutual lack of language competence was not an issue. What a hoot :D:D:D

After a couple of weeks of intense cold, followed by lots of blowing snow I've finally been able to get out and shoot a few more snow crystals.
I've been using my recently acquired, inexpensive, AmScope 4X Plan Achromatic Microscope Objective Lens (Model No: PA4XK-V300). Seems to work pretty good. IMGP4015 by Fred Widall, on Flickr IMGP3979 by Fred Widall, on Flickr IMGP4004 by Fred Widall, on Flickr IMGP4041 by Fred Widall, on Flickr
Here's my current setup. IMGP5564 by Fred Widall, on Flickr
Here I'm using the 4X microscope objective attached to a Pentax Auto Bellows, which is mounted on my Pentax K5.
For lighting I'm using a 6.5W LED bulb (almost no heat). The light shines up through a sheet of glass on my homemade stand.
I collect the snow crystals on another sheet of glass which is then mounted on the base from an old Zeiss microscope.
The camera remains stationary and I focus using the microscope base, which allows very fine control.
I have the camera in 'LiveView' mode and the output is fed to an old computer monitor using a HDMI cable.
I use two Yongnuo RF603 triggers to fire the shutter in 2 second delay mode to minimize camera shake.
The image being displayed on the screen is a ruler. As you can see my horizontal FOV is a little over 4 mm. I can get down to approx. 1mm with a 10X objective
Simple :)

All these years living by an airport finally paid off.
It was cloudy here all day and I grumbled about living in the Pacific Northwest and missing another celestial event.
When lo and behold, the clouds break and the moon is shining!
I had to rush inside and cobble together gear to cover the eclipse.
The camera was set up for a remote 3 second delay and this is the only one of 3 jet pictures that turned out since I had to guess when it would be in the frame.
You can even see the engine from the flash of the strobe.
