Heh - one thing we humans find most challenging is allowing for our differences in personality, perception, experience, up-bringing, genetic make-up, eye structure (and eye health!!) etc etc etc. Hell, I even seem to experience a perception of difference in colour density when using either my left or right eye when looking through the viewfinder!!

So no two of us will ever see anything (be it issues of morality, politics, a specific event, or a work of art (or even what we are willing to call "art"), in exactly the same way, although sometimes we enjoy the experience of finding someone who sees things almost the same way as ourselves.

So, I admit to a certain "deadness" of response, in myself, to most (but not all !!!) monochrome images. I don't have the same response as a lot of my friends, to painting (art) exhibitions, finding a response (in myself) to only a very few items in a large collection.
On the other hand, I seem to find a response of appreciation, or enjoyment, to a far wider range of music, and music genres, compared to most people I know.

We humans are, very much, individuals. But .....vive la difference! (Except, of course, where it leads to prejudice, hate and violence).

Is there any trick for doing longer exposure with shake reduction?

I would have to say that it would seem your experience directly contradicts most people's experience. Any kind of shooting that involves magnification (ie either long lens or macro) is vulnerable to camera shake and body movement, in most people's experience. It is this common experience that has given rise to the general guideline of relating shutter speed number to focal length. It is, as I said, a guideline, not a rule or law, but for most people a good guideline.

I have to admit, before commenting, that in general I do not seem to have an in-built appreciation for black and white, or monochrome, shots, in general. So I am a little biased away from monochrome. ( Although now and then, one or another black and white shot really does hit me between the eyes, so to speak.)

But in this case, I think the conversion to monochrome has lost a little of nature's magic that the colour shot has managed to catch.

Thanks Les.
In the original raw file, the pattern on the part of the turtle's shell that was in direct sunlight was almost burnt out, as the shot was exposed for the shadowed parts of the turtle. Fortunately there was enough detail left to salvage some detail in PP.

Raw vs jpeg

I personally always shoot RAW - and I have slowly been learning (since 2018) how to develop (process) to improve the original result - eg correct for under/over exposure, make clouds look more dramatic, reduce "noise", improve sharpness, remove unwanted elements (eg a rubbish bin not noticed at the time of taking the pic) etc.
In the process of doing this I always finalise the result in jpeg format. But if I were intending to print a pic, I might instead choose to finish the processing in TIFF or PNG.

See here:
JPEG, TIFF, PNG, SVG File Formats And When To Use Them | by Vincent T. | High-Definition Pro | Medium
or
Guide to Image Formats: JPEG, GIF, TIFF vs PNG

These two references were chosen randomly after a "tiff vs png vs jpeg" google - they are not necessarily definitive articles, but give you something to start answering your questions.

Yes, I wouldn't be using any additional glass added to the Macro. Move closer, or, as suggested, consider extension tubes,

Nonetheless, they are still an attractive pair (I am assuming they are a pair, and that the colour differences are gender-indicative ?)

Nice pic - not seen this variation portrayed before.
