I have been considering this for a week or so now and I think that I will end up purchasing a set.
The smartphone adapter is interesting.
Most modern smartphone have decent cameras.
I for one would like to see how it goes with my Samsung s9+.

I feel the Bluetooth chip could be updated.
Compared to Bluetooth 4.2, Bluetooth 5 has:
2x the data rate
4x the range
8x the broadcast capability
Bluetooth 5 has been around since 2017.
Bluetooth 5 has been formulated to use less power than 4.2
Bluetooth 5 clocks in at two megabits per second (Mbps) which is twice as fast as version 4.2 with its 1 Mbps.
Personally I take my SD card out and either transfer to my portable "My Passport Wireless Pro" 2TB storage with the push of a button and without a laptop, or I simply wait until I am at home and transfer directly to home PC
I have tried the wireless functionality for the K-70 and i only used it to test out the Pentax phone app "Image Sync" (Which works well by the way however I prefer my corded intervalometer when using a tripod in any case)
I could totally live without either WiFi or Bluetooth in a camera.

Thought I would show off most of my collection.
Most important things missing Pentax KP & DA 21mm Limited however they did participate in the photo shoot.
Spent ages setting it up but looks good lol o to me was worth it.
There is a full 110 system in the background that sort of got lost in the image
So much more camera gear, I would need a bigger room to setup in. |

My travel camera case at the moment - KP, K-70, K-S1 & K-r.
(I intend on getting the K-r converted to infra-red soon which I think is a good option for a red body)
Also a small slot for my SD card holder. KP & K70 get a 128GB card, K-S1 gets a 64GB card and K- r gets a 32GB card. Extras SD cards go in the card holder.
When the K-new comes out, I will probably replace the K-S1 in the kit or find a new setup for infra red.
My travelling lens case :-)
ZOOMS:
Pentax DA 10-17 Fisheye, Sigma 10-20, Pentax DA 18-55, Pentax D-FA 28-105, Pentax 55-300 PLM
PRIMES:
Pentax 21mm limited, Sigma 35 1.4 ART, Pentax 40mm XS, Pentax DA 50 1.8, Tamron 90mm Macro
OTHER:
0-GPS1 Unit, Pentax D-Li109 Batteries x3, 7x aftermarket D-Li109 2000mha copies.
I ordered the Pentax KP battery grip Pentax D-BG7 and that will be close to delivery.
I also ordered the DA 1.4x converter which is coming from England in around 2 weeks.
I have another empty carry case the same as used for my 4 cameras, I think I will use it for the grip, converter and for a D-FA 150-450 that I am looking at also getting, hopefully soon.
My backpack hold 2 tripods, all my filters, rubber lens hoods, macro gear, rode mic set-up, catctus v6/v5 units and flashes, cleaning kits and the like.
This is my mobile set-up for my car.
I have another camera bag which I can fill with whatever I want from my car for my photo walks.
I do this for a hobby. I see it as a bit extreme however it gives me the satisfaction I seek. There is something about Pentax.... maybe there are drugs on the cameras and lenses that absorb in your skin... idk..
I am addicted to photography and no other brand interests me. I can think of worse things to spend money on.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy my Pentax porn :-)

I should probably mention that I have owned 3 Pentax K-x cameras.
I have convinced two of my friends to shoot with a DSLR and sold them a K- x each for $100.
I made a loss on the cameras and I gave them both a kit lens (18-55) and a 55-200 each.
My value comes from them borrowing lenses from me and from me enjoying teaching them photography.
I pretty much don't use my K-r any more so I am planning to get that converted to infra-red.
The K-r I own is a red copy so it is perfect in my mind.
I originally changed from a k-x as a 2nd camera until I purchased the k-r (because they both use the DLi109 battery) however I then purchased the K-S1.
I am now going to have to buy some extra D-L190 batteries.
Looks like I will be much more tempted to buy more cameras that use the new battery.
I have 7x DLi109 batteries but none of the other yet.
I guess my addiction is far from healing now.

Yes! I want one of each.
All in good time lol.
I may end up finishing my collection, or I may not... time will tell.
Absolutely. I shoot both film and digital.
I shot around 35k photos last year.
I test every lens and camera I buy :)
Most lenses get placed in the display cabinet for the remainder of their lives now.
Every now and again I take out something to use for a day with a film slr. I love the k1000 and the ME for film thus far. I don't change the lenses on the film cameras as often.
I tend to use the newer lenses on the newer cameras.
On some days I have used 5 or 6 lenses on the one camera in an outing.
I bought the 28-105 because of its reputation.
I was not disappointed. This lens produces a fantastic picture very easily.
Knowing it is a FF lens, I feel it produces a better picture than the 18-135 from photographers that have been shared their pics on this site. I weighed up a few options and decided the 28-105 was for me.
The 28-105 is probably my most used walk around lens.
Another reason I purchased this lens is knowing my addiction, I would eventually get a K1 and will want FF lanes as well.

I have been amassing quite a nice collection of Pentax cameras and lenses over the last 3 or 4 years.
I am fairly sure that I have contracted one or all of the following:
1) LBA - Lens Buying Addiction
2) CBA - Camera Buying Addiction
3) LL - Lens Lust
4) GAS - Gear Aquisition Syndrome
I have done some research and it seems that one can only cure ones self of these afflictions.
I started with a K-X approx 4 years ago with just the kit lens 18-55.
I soon started to buy 2nd hand Pentax lenses.
A few like the M 50mm macro lens made me want a better camera.
My next upgrade was my much loved K-70, to which, I added even more lenses.
My Pentax addiction had begun.
I now have the following Pentax cameras in my growing collection:
Pentax Electro Spotomatic, ES, K1000, Z-20, Z-70, Z-70P, MZ-50, MZ-60, SF7, ME F, istD, K-x, K-r, K-S1, K-70, KP.
The lenses I love and use most (no particular order)
Sigma 35mm Art, D-FA 28-105, 18-55WR, Sigma 10-20 4.5, DA 10-17, 55-300PLM, SMC 21mm Limited , 40mm XS, DA50 1.8, Tamron 90mm macro, SMC Pentax 500mm F4.5.
I have approx 100 lenses thus far.
I think I am trying to get pretty much one of everything Pentax made in SLR lenses and cameras.
Obviously there will be some very hard to find bits.
I am unsure if the KP (about to arrive in the mail in a couple of days) will help cure my afflictions.
I sorta hope it will tbh.
I have set up a home photo studio room with multiple drop screens, various and many wireless flash units and all sorts to do everything from a portraits to macro and still life or product photography. I honestly can't think of anything else I would use otherwise and therefore have finished my spending for the studio.
Does anyone think I am nuts?

---------- Post added 07-16-20 at 09:23 PM ---------- I found it an interestingly good watch. Reinforced my love for Pentax.
I want to continue to use DSLRs in the future and am more than happy that Pentax seems to be concentrating on staying in that section of the marketplace.
I find it sensible that Pentax does this while the opposition seems to move toward mirroless in my opinion.

I had had some good success with the DA10-17 fisheye between 15 and 17mm.
I much prefer my Sigma 10-20.
I think once you get your astrotracer then even the 18-55 kit lens works well enough.
