So the only repair piece provided by the manufacturer is prone to the same issue? Then the white version is the only way to go to correclty repair the k70?
Thanks, Maybe I'll try to look for old broken pentax camera online or directly buy the solenoid.

Hello! After almost 2 years of using my k70 with my wide manual lens only (shutter block failure), I'd like to finally repair my camera so I could use my other lenses. I tried to check at a repair shop but they denied since they don't have the piece.
Then, I started to look at tutorials with the goal to do it myself, it seems like there is a white and green version of the solenoid. In the tutorials the green one is always replaced by a white one (, however when I look online, I only see green solenoids for sale. (I mean, I saw a white white once, for 50€...)
Does buying the white version over the green solenoid matters or not? Where to get one for a reasonable price?
Thanks.

Thanks for the information! Well I guess the first step would be to get clean pictures. HDR will come after, I have time I don't need to over rush everything. So next step: clean camera sensor and buy a tripod :)

There's no doubt, you were definitely here but not the same day! Although I don't really like the clouds, I really like the warm mood you brought to the picture, especially with the green tones. the picture looks really good!
The picture looks great in black and white :) oh yeah, as I said I got the aperture block failure on my k-70 so I only use manual lenses (temporary RIP my 50mm f1.8 lens). My lens is not automatically detected by my camera so it asks me every time for the focal length, but there are no '14mm' entry, instead I always choose the closest one which is '15mm' that's why.

It is the Samyang 14mm f/2.8 IF ED AS UMC. Thank you :)
True, the conditions were far from perfect and quite dark. I will try to get there back again for sure, let's hope the frontier will reopen soon...
I don't know much about landscape photography, I guess the proper way to do it is to use a very small aperture/tripod. Is HDR a good idea?

Thanks for your responses!
Yup, I guess lifting up the shadows help. I'll try to play with lightning a bit more.
Wow, you are lucky to live there! I went there in late September, It looks so great, and also there were almost no tourists which was even better! I also took very good shots of the northern lights.

So, last summer I bought a manual wide lens (yup I got the aperture block failure, I decided to get a manual lens since I wanted a wide lens for landscape photography either way..) This autumn, I got the luck to go to Lofoten island, and obviously I did not miss my chance to take pictures.
I took many pictures and processed them, but somehow I'm not satisfied but the result. The landscape looks really dark and sad while the landscape doesn't stick out of the picture. More generally I'm not really convinced by my editing although I feel like it could be way better.
Let me know what you think and if you know if there is any way to improve it.

Hello everyone, I am 20years old and I come from France.
I acquired a new pentax k70 dslr last month (+ a 18-55mm from ebay and also a new 50mm f1. 8 lens).
I decided to register on this forum in order to be able to discuss with people having the same passion.
Furthermore I'm looking for advice in order to make better pictures, because I am not quite satisfied with my shots and also with the processing part. So if you know any post that may interest me, I would appreciate it.
Have a good day, tomlavl.
