Odd coincidence. I was just out paddle boarding this morning and toted my old Canon G15 with me, which for safety was in a dive case. I was wondering if it would really take photos any better than my iPhone (maybe...considering the Canon sensor is 4x the size of the iPhone's).
Now if I owned a rugged and waterproof camera with say a 1inch or, better yet, an APS-C sensor...that would definitely be coming with me. I still probably would prefer a dive case in salt water environs though (but I live inland - so usually I'm dealing with fresh waters).

Brilliant camera. I still pull up and process shots from mine, and they are totally competitive with images from today's cameras!
Cheaper than snow skiing...at least in my country. I know plenty of people who do that. :-) It's GAS that costs the extra!

Yes...to complete that premium prime lineup! It would be nice to see. I only have the 50 at the moment. I've wanted the 85mm for a while...and would badly desire a D FA* 35mm if/when it surfaces!

K-1iii vanilla is what I’d probably be after (depending on what they do with it…I still love my K-1ii).
GR is interesting…since it’s a big seller for them, and the K-3iii mono apparently doing well, you’d think maybe a GR mono would be on their minds. Not on my wish list, but it’s an intriguing thought.

You know what...I really want a K-3iii mono, and would also like the K-1iii when it arrives. I think if Pentax was developing any faster, I wouldn't be able to afford being in the system. It's probably enough for me!

Cool…I was thinking more MX proportions….but yeah, pretty much a generic SLR look.

Now onto Reacher season 2 with my wife. She loves the series...closer to the book character apparently.

The guitar tone (and progression to a great extent) took me straight to 'Under The Bridge'...but simpler.

I like the composition. One thing that would make it better in my mind would be to clear all the other trees competing with the main tree on the right...it would be nice standing alone.
Ok...so performing land clearing just for a nicer photograph might be just a little over the top :-)

My first impression was the top one.
Then I looked again and kind of liked the bottom.
...or...would it be better still to reduce the ocean to just the bottom third? The interesting stuff is all above the water in this shot.

Well...take a look at the fourth shot down on this page - Winners announced for the $50,000 Heritage Bank Photographic Awards - Capture magazine - 'Standing Strong'. A winner of a competition with a fairly decent prize pool. There are some great images submitted to this competition.
When I first saw this particular photograph I thought, well hey, great photo. I wondered how the photographer had controlled the lighting so well...there was something a little unnatural about it. I was a bit naive of course, as this is a composite shot of the subject in a studio with the background later photoshopped in (the photographer is open about this).
It kind of diminished the result in my mind. I have since seen this sort of thing more commonly...it seems to be fairly frequent in studio photography. I suppose it's an extension of using an actual physical backdrop. Obviously there's still skill and effort required to do it...but gee...I dunno...leaves me feeling a little short-changed. Had I been a runner up in this competition with something extraordinary that was taken in one shot, I think I'd have been a little upset.
Obviously there is a parallel with the subject of the original post here - the photographer has had a vision (though after the initial photography it seems), and simply implemented it.

Interesting article.
For me, at some point, it just becomes art. I don't think that invalidates the work, but it's not quite photography.
Not sure where that line is drawn though. My smart phone enhances the *** out of everything I take with it, and creates its own composite exposures. Is it still a real photograph? Does it matter?
Misrepresentation is a bad thing. That's probably where the line is drawn.

Yeah...absolutely must have different passwords throughout. I did have a common password for some accounts many years back. I lost our Netflix account for about 30 mins due to this (happened to be online when the notifications came in, and got it sorted immediately with support). I simply hadn't realised that I still had the old password on Netflix. Have I Been Pwned: Check if your email has been compromised in a data breach is a decent resource to check if your e-mail and creds may have been in a data breach. Don't be alarmed if you're in there...it's a given. Just know that if you do appear there, you should carefully consider the account that was breached, and if the password was shared amongst any other accounts.
