Brilliant camera. I still pull up and process shots from mine, and they are totally competitive with images from today's cameras!
Cheaper than snow skiing...at least in my country. I know plenty of people who do that. :-) It's GAS that costs the extra!

You know what...I really want a K-3iii mono, and would also like the K-1iii when it arrives. I think if Pentax was developing any faster, I wouldn't be able to afford being in the system. It's probably enough for me!

Cool…I was thinking more MX proportions….but yeah, pretty much a generic SLR look.

The guitar tone (and progression to a great extent) took me straight to 'Under The Bridge'...but simpler.

Well...take a look at the fourth shot down on this page - Winners announced for the $50,000 Heritage Bank Photographic Awards - Capture magazine - 'Standing Strong'. A winner of a competition with a fairly decent prize pool. There are some great images submitted to this competition.
When I first saw this particular photograph I thought, well hey, great photo. I wondered how the photographer had controlled the lighting so well...there was something a little unnatural about it. I was a bit naive of course, as this is a composite shot of the subject in a studio with the background later photoshopped in (the photographer is open about this).
It kind of diminished the result in my mind. I have since seen this sort of thing more commonly...it seems to be fairly frequent in studio photography. I suppose it's an extension of using an actual physical backdrop. Obviously there's still skill and effort required to do it...but gee...I dunno...leaves me feeling a little short-changed. Had I been a runner up in this competition with something extraordinary that was taken in one shot, I think I'd have been a little upset.
Obviously there is a parallel with the subject of the original post here - the photographer has had a vision (though after the initial photography it seems), and simply implemented it.

Interesting article.
For me, at some point, it just becomes art. I don't think that invalidates the work, but it's not quite photography.
Not sure where that line is drawn though. My smart phone enhances the *** out of everything I take with it, and creates its own composite exposures. Is it still a real photograph? Does it matter?
Misrepresentation is a bad thing. That's probably where the line is drawn.

Had a KP...used a wrist strap.
That carried on to my K-1ii...despite the size disparity I still (mostly) use a wrist strap with that. I find it a comfortable and ready way to carry a camera.
I have Peak Design anchors on my most used bodies, and I can switch to a neck strap easily if I want to (now and then...but rarely).
Occasionally I'll clip a body to a Black Rapid cross body strap and carry a camera like that.
Many options.

It's an odd thing right? For some reason, 40mm-ish just does it for me. So much so that I've got lenses with that field of view across three systems. Love walking around with one! I know plenty who don't find it inspiring though.

These are not the droids you're looking for.
Does remind me of a Death Star repair droid though. Just a little.

I saw this only recently ahead of my son's high school graduation. A friend of a friend was there with their Nikon to grab some shots...flipped the switch...nada!
Fortunately I had shown up with my trusty K-1 fully charged and ready to go! We managed to still get shots of the boys in their suits!
Moral of the story...you just need more cameras? Then at least one of them will probably be charged ;-)
