While not groundbreaking definitely a useful feature. Thanks for sharing.

Most sad thing is not at least upgrading AF system to KP or K3 II level. It's not like that would compete against the K3 III.
Definitely a lost opportunity.

Alexander Zerev in Australian Open practice with Sigma 70-200 HSM.
Funny story, I got stopped by security as they limit lenses to maximum 200mm. The lens passed but no one questioned using a lowly Pentax KP for action. By the way, I don't think it's lowly but I know many action shooters would.

I have both and much prefer using the KP. I just never liked the weight of the K1. I still have it but have to make myself use it unlike the KP that I happily use.

The Pentax version of the Flashpoint Zoom-Mini TTL R2 Flash is on sale for US$49 with free shipping at the moment. This can also act as a transmitter in the wider Godox lighting system. https://www.adorama.com/fplfsmminip.html? |

Well, I have found the KP AF better than my K1 and K3 and a lot better than my old K5.

I don't want to gang up but this guy does not appear to be an ambassador. If his conclusions are similar to the ambassadors isn't that good? If it confirms what the ambassadors were saying rather than us just having to believe the ambassadors words isn't that a good thing. It's another data point providing additional evidence of several noted improvements identified by the ambassadors.
We all have to make our own judgements on ambassador reviews, assorted Youtube reviewers, user reviews and so-called expert review sites such as DPReview. Note: I no longer think much of DPreview but they are unfortunately an influential review site.
Anyway, I am happy the mythical K3 III is in hands of actual real people now. Yay!

Biggest problem with Fujifilm is the x-trans sensor. Some love it but I don't.

As a fellow Melbournian good luck in your job hunt.
My job is also about to cease in a few months so I kinda know how you feel.

I don't want to turn this into a KP vs K-70 thread but with the KP you do get the much quieter shutter mechanism, much reduced risk of aperture block failure, battery grip option, more advanced AF system.
As to it's value, I think a lot of it is to do with timing. As a long lived model it is now relatively inexpensive especially since over the lifetime of the product camera's have gone up in price not down.

If one doesn't like the accelerator unit in the new K3 III they don't have to buy it.
For me it's a non-issue if it's similar to the KP's. I for one made my own assessment when I bought the KP. I'd rather have the accelerator unit with its processing applied to the images than live with a camera I had to post-process my images for a similar result.
Each to there own but no need to devalue views of people who have no issue with having the accelerator unit. Their view is worth no less than a person who has the opposite opinion.
I repeat, if it's such a negative issue don't buy the camera.

Not really interested in these super high iso examples but if the improvement is real at say iso 12,800 then I'd be very happy. I set auto-iso on KP go to 6,400, so one full stop on this with equal or marginally better image quality would be a real gain for me.
AF improvement;
1.05 magnification ovf; and
Improved iso
are enough for me to get this camera if the price is within range.

If some of the CA is removed this is great. The new DFA 85mm F1.4 is great but heavy and costly for lots of us. This updated HDFA 77mm is hopefully a nice update. Also shows some kind of commitment to the brand which is a background worry with the delay to the K3 III.

This is why I said this deal was fantastic and that inclusion of the flash should be included in the thread title!!!
By including the Flashpoint Zoom Li-on X R2 TTL Round Flash Speedlight in this deal even if you don't want to learn or use an external flash you can always sell it off.
By the way, in my opinion this is the best available flash for Pentax DSLR users. This flash opens the door to the wider Godox flash system.

Hi.
I think this is an all manual flash, so no P-TTL.
In the Godox range, for a traditional flash with P-TTL you are limited to:
It's limited but better than nothing.
Godox also have plenty of other larger lights, eg, AD200, you can use in P-TTL with the appropriate trigger, eg, XPro-P.

Well, I have the XPro-P.
Anyway, the problem you will have for comparisons is that most people have one or the other but not both (regards XPro-P and X2T).
I only have the XPro-P so my comments are:- It's pretty intuitive;
- It's good have all five groups on screen at once;
- Firmware is pretty easy to upgrade (I updated it last night).
Not related to the trigger but to the Godox eco-system itself, it's great having such a wide selection of possible strobes and larger lighting options combined with built-in wireless rx (dependent on model) and lithium-ion battery options.
My main negatives to the XPro-P would be:- 1.2V AA rechargeable batteries don't work well;
- the circular dial could rotate with a nicer motion (the circular dial on the V1-P flash rotates much nicer).
My final comment would be that the more frequently you use it the easier it gets to use. No brainer you say but its true. Watch a good Youtube how-to video and you're good to go.
Most things on the XPro are pretty obvious in use but here are two shortcuts:- Reset trigger (Hold down two center buttons in top row of trigger for two seconds)
- Switch between Zoom/Channel (long press on top left Zoom/Channel button). This is the only dual purpose button on the trigger.
There are so many reviews on Youtube that that would be an easier way to compare the triggers than ask for feedback here. I know you probably won't find a Pentax comparison using the triggers but the comparison still holds.
The XPro was generally regarded as easily the best Godox trigger up to the time it was released. I can't say anything about the X2T other than I am not tempted to buy it.
Best of luck with your decision.

I own the AD200 as well. It's a great light.
We have to be thankful that Godox supports Pentax. It's definitely improved the flash and larger lighting options for us.

People seem to be forgetting inflation of pricing in the camera market. Prices of five years ago do not apply to the current camera market. Prices are rising for all camera makers.
